Aimee Burgamy
Aimee Burgamy, Ph.D. Dr. Aimee Burgamy teaches Art at Hull Middle School in suburban Atlanta. Her students are known for public projects that raise environmental awareness. Dr. Burgamy is also well known for her advocacy efforts on behalf of art in public education and art as an essential ingredient in cross-cultural understanding. Dr. Burgamy is a former district teacher of the year and a national teacher of the year winner (Great American Teacher of the Year, 2010) and currently serves as lead teacher and curriculum writer for middle school visual arts. She has also serves as the Middle School Division President for the GAEA and the Southeastern Middle Level Division Director for NAEA. She currently serves as the chairperson for the Capitol Art Exhibition which is the largest exhibit of student art work in Georgia and takes place at the Georgia Capitol each year in February. In Addition, She has been nominated and is a current candidate for the Middle Level Division Director position on the National Art Education Association Board. Many were nominated, two were chosen, and now art teachers from across the county will decide who will help shape the future of art education.
