Sara Cox
I am Mrs. Cox, St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic School's art teacher! I began teaching art at St. Matthew in 2017. Before I taught at St. Matthew I taught seven years at St. Patrick School in London, Ohio. I am also a graduate of The Ohio State University where I received my Bachelor of Art Education, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Arts degree.
I live in Lewis Center with my husband, Nathan and my daughters, Everly and Sylvia. Everly is 11 years old and Sylvia is 8 years old. We also have a bernedo ... read moreodle puppy named Lyla. We enjoy playing outside, trips to the park, and traveling.
I plan to continue displaying student artwork virtually. Artsonia allows students to create an online art portfolio to turn in work and present the projects they create during art class. This will help them see how much their art skills have grown over the years.
As an advocate for the arts, I find this super important, because it allows students to take ownership and pride in their artwork. Art encourages self expression and helps promote mental health. Some projects in art will connect with many of the core subject themes discussed in homeroom. Art class will help students make connections to the world around them and inspire creativity.
I look forward to working with your children, and I can't wait for you to see all the amazing masterpieces we create each year!
