Meet the Teachers  at Cedar Mountain Primary School (K - 1st) (Vernon, New Jersey)

Heidi Patchell I am so honored to be teaching the youngest artists in Vernon. This is my 14th year teaching elementary art, and my 5th year at Cedar Mountain. I obtained my BA from Montclair State in education with a concentration in Fine Arts and also was named as the recipient for the 2011 Excellence in Art Education Award from the graduating class. I continue to be a life long learner as I recently finished my Masters Degree in Special Education. Children at this level have a beautiful outlook filled with curiosity ... read more and creativity. As a local resident and mom, I look forward to helping to build a strong community of well-rounded high level thinkers, problem solvers, and innovative creators. I want our children to feel safe taking risks in their work, and realize that there are no mistakes in art, just happy accidents as they explore the earliest foundations. Students are thrilled to create and always so excited to share their accomplishments. This platform is a wonderful way to share your child's successes with family and friends virtually.
