I'm happy to be in my sixth year of teaching at the Carmel School. I love being able to teach most of the school and watch the students progress from third grade through upper school! In Carmel art classes the students have the opportunity to learn, discover, and create art in a huge variety of media and inspired by art from around the world and at different times. I am the daughter of Army officers, so I had the opportunity to travel all through my childhood. As a second grader, I walked the halls of Pari ... read mores's Louvre museum and still have memories of the art I saw. This early art exposure had a huge influence on my own artistic development. After graduating from high school in Georgia, I moved to Virginia to earn a BA and then an M.ed from the University of Mary Washington. While I love to work in all media, I tend toward drawing, acrylics, encaustic, and ceramics.
