I am a strong believer in that "The arts are an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic…music, dance, painting, and theater are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment.” Personally, art is an essential part of my life and the key to expressing my understandings of the world. As my life in the States started from 6th grade, I had a hard reset in my life as an immigrant. Every day was a struggle with not having the ability to communicate or under ... read morestanding the culture. Soon I realized that the Art was the only outlet that has helped me to breath and know that I am not incapable. Art has empowered me, and taught me the essential key to understanding humanity in the most gentle and caring way than any other subjects did for me.
From a math major in college, I switched to visual arts in my junior year for this love of art. I am a graduate of California State University Fullerton, with BA in Visual Arts, Teaching Concentration, Crafts Emphasis. I taught Ceramics in Korean/English Dual Immersion at Berendo Middle School in LAUSD and I have been teaching Ceramics, Jewelry, and Mosaic Arts in Ladera Vista Jr. High School of the Arts since 2015. With my students at Ladera Vista Junior of the Arts, I hope to teach my students how see the world through the arts as well as to express their understandings of the world through art-making.
