I love all the fine arts. I have made a living by performing theatre in NYC & by singing in the NY Grand Opera. I've done voice overs and sang the opening scene of Godfather III. Prior to moving to TX, I taught Choir for 7 years at Paraclete HS in CA, and most recently have taught Art I, Beginning Ceramics, Pre-AP Ceramics, and AP 3-D Studio Art Ceramics at W.T. White H.S.in Dallas ISD for 5 years before opening Eaton HS last year.
When I was very young, an art teacher laughed at my project and in ... read moreformed me that I would certainly never, ever be an artist. My spirit was crushed and I would not participate in any hands-on arts for many years. Much later in life, while raising my three sons, I discovered a real love for painting, ceramics, and all sorts of art. After much training, contemplation, and encouragement from many wonderful artists, teachers, 3 sons, and husband of over 30 years, I can confidently say that my dream is finally being realized by teaching art to Eaton high school students.
I have a BS with Honors in Fine Art & Child Studies, and am a TX Certified teacher, classified highly qualified in all of the following: Art EC-12, Theatre EC-12, Family & Consumer Sciences 6-12, and P.E. EC-12. One of these days I will get my Masters Degree in Ceramics!
Why Art? Art education should inspire all students to a life-long yearning to learn about the world, be a medium for self discovery, and support the creation of unique styles of personal expression.
