Meet the Teachers  at Southwest Detroit Lighthouse Academy (Detroit, Michigan)

Erin Ellis Hello!- I am an elementary art teacher at a fabulous school in southwest Detroit, where I teach students in grades K-6. I have a BFA specializing in graphic design from Wayne State University and later returned to earn my K-12 Art Education Certification at the College for Creative Studies (both schools located in Detroit). I love living and working in the same community, and my passion for Detroit is what eventually lead me to teaching. My interests lie mostly in the arts, but I also enjoy reading, riding my bike, and being outdoors. As I enter this year of teaching, it is my goal to get more students submitting their work to Artsonia and to start a class blog as well! Send compliment
