Meet the Teachers at St Bernard Catholic School (Green Bay, Wisconsin)

Art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I had many wonderful, encouraging teachers throughout my life who cultivated my love of art. My primary goal as an art educator is to inspire my students to find their unique creative spirit and let it shine. In the words of my favorite art teacher, "The sky is the limit!"

I followed my dreams into the world of architecture and design by earning a BFA from UW-Milwaukee (Graphic Design with additional studies in Architecture) and a BS from UW-Madison ... read more(Interior Design). In my final year of college I was able to backpack through Europe to see many of the places, artworks & structures I had learned about... in person! This incredible experience cemented my appreciation of the arts, history, and diversity of art culture.

I spent the first part of my career applying my passion for architecture and design working at a Minneapolis-based kitchen design firm. After relocating to Green Bay, and taking an intentional break to raise a family, I discovered how much I enjoyed working with children. I spent 3 years working in Early Childhood education and as a literacy tutor for students of all ages before making the official leap to become a licensed art teacher. I have found this to be the perfect way to combine my two passions: art and educating.

El arte ha sido mi pasión desde que tengo memoria. Tuve muchos maestros maravillosos y alentadores a lo largo de mi vida que cultivaron mi amor por el arte. Mi objetivo principal como educador de arte es inspirar a mis alumnos a encontrar su espíritu creativo único y dejarlo brillar. En palabras de mi profesor de arte favorito, "¡El cielo es el límite!"

Seguí mis sueños en el mundo de la arquitectura y el diseño al obtener un BFA de UW-Milwaukee (Diseño Gráfico con estudios adicionales en Arquitectura) y un BS de UW-Madison (Diseño de Interiores). En mi último año de universidad pude recorrer Europa con mi mochila para ver muchos de los lugares, obras de arte y estructuras sobre las que había aprendido... ¡en persona! Esta increíble experiencia consolidó mi aprecio por las artes, la historia y la diversidad de la cultura artística.

Pasé la primera parte de mi carrera aplicando mi pasión por la arquitectura y el diseño trabajando en una empresa de diseño de cocinas con sede en Minneapolis. Después de mudarme a Green Bay y tomar un descanso intencional para formar una familia, descubrí cuánto disfrutaba trabajar con niños. Pasé 3 años trabajando en educación infantil y como tutora de alfabetización para estudiantes de todas las edades antes de dar el salto oficial para convertirme en maestra de arte con licencia. He encontrado que esta es la manera perfecta de combinar mis dos pasiones: el arte y la educación.
