Talented Arts Caddo Parish
• The Talented Arts Program is a state-wide program for elementary through high school age students in the areas of visual art, music (vocal or instrumental) and drama.

• The students in Caddo Parish have been identified through a screening and audition or testing process and are placed in classes taught by outstanding arts educators - all of whom are active in the local arts scene.

Emily Daye
Emily received her Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University Shreveport and her Masters of Arts in Education from Centenary College of Louisiana. She joined the program in 2014. Outside of school, Emily is an accomplished local artist constructing two art installations, funded by grants for the invigoration of the Shreveport Common area.

Emily Welch
Emily teaches elementary and middle school Talented Arts students throughout Caddo Parish. She attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. She was a commercial graphic designer for 15 years before joining the program in 2012. She is married with two children both of which are in the Talented Visual Art program.

Outside of school Emily enjoys working in watercolor and clay. You can find many of Emily's ceramic and watercolor prints in retail stores across the country. You can learn more about her work on her website:

Erinn Buteau
Erinn teaches elementary and middle school Talented Arts students throughout Caddo Parish. She attended LSU in Baton Rouge and earned a degree in Art Education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and a certification in Gifted and Talented. She has taught with the program since 2008.

Erinn is an accomplished abstract painter and has many pieces in private collection. SB Magazine featured her artwork in an article.

Hillary Frazier
Hillary Frazier specializes in traditional illustration, hand-drawn typography, and bouts of work-induced insomnia. Frazier graduated in May 2013, from Centenary College of Louisiana with a double-Bachelors in Studio Arts and Communications (with an emphasis in film). In December 2019, she acquired her Master of Arts in Art at Northwestern State University in Louisiana and joined the Talented Arts Program in 2020.

James King
James is an accomplished painter. He relocated to Shreveport after Hurricane Katrina forced his family to leave New Orleans. He received his MFA program in painting from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. His undergrad focus was also in painting from the Glassell School, Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

Josh Chambers
Josh received his Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana Tech University in 2009 and his Bachelors of Art from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, Joshua's work has been published in New American Paintings, Creative Quarterly, and Studio Visit Magazine and exhibited in many galleries in around the world and in private collections.

Laura Harter
Laura received her BFA in Graphic Design from Louisiana State University and her Masters in painting from Texas Christian University. She taught art for 4 years at Centenary College before joining the Talented Arts Program in 2007.

Outside of school, Laura is an accomplished local painter. Her works have been featured in gallery shows in Shreveport including Artspace.

Natalie Paige Welch
Natalie Paige Welch attained her bachelors degree in Graphic Design. She has worked within the school system for a long as in the Talented-Visual Arts program as a child. She loves to hear two things brewing, creativity & coffee. YOU ARE A WORK OF ART!

Tess Pepitone
Tess Pepitone has been teaching Visual Art with the Caddo Parish Talented Art Program for five years. A native of Monroe, Louisiana, Tess earned both her B.F.A and M.F.A in Studio Art from Louisiana Tech University's School of Design. While attending classes Mrs. Pepitone worked as an Instructor of Record with the School of Design as well as the Executive Assistant and Gallery Coordinator for the North Central Louisiana Arts Council. Currently she lives in Shreveport and outside of the classroom she enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring National Parks.

Thomas Little
Thomas received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and his Master of Fine Art from the Art Institute of Boston. He joined the program in 2007. Outside of school Thomas likes to focus on quick sketch art and trompe l'oeil mural painting.
