An Alabama native, I attended Birmingham Southern College and was fortunate to intern at Progressive Farmer Magazine and Southern Living Magazine. That experience led me to later graduating with a BFA in Graphic Design. My professional job experience has varied but has always revolved around art. I began as a graphic designer for Decatur General Hospital. After marrying my husband Jody, we moved to Greensboro, NC where I was hired as lead graphic designer for Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company. Afte ... read morer starting our family, Jody and I moved to Franklin - closer to our families and SEC football. While my children were younger, I was a commissioned, independent artist and artistic volunteer for local public schools. I have two children, Maddie who is 29 and lives/works in Nashville and Silas, 26, who also lives/works in Nashville. Jody and I feel blessed we were able to send both of our children to BGA and are proud that they graduated from this college preparatory school. Seventeen years ago, I began working for BGA as a teacher’s assistant and art advisor for BGA LS, BGA Art Camp instructor, and yearbook advisor/teacher for BGA Upper School students. This is my 11th year in my dream job as Lower School art teacher, and I am super excited to “imagine, create, and enjoy” with your children!
