Meet Paula Bowers
from Glenforest School

Biography
Mrs. Bowers specializes in painting and drawing casual portraiture of children and adults, as well as colorful landscapes. In 2003, she opened the ArtShack Gallery Cafe', where she taught art to children and adults of all ages as well as displayed and sold the artwork of local Columbia area artists. In 2006, Mrs. Bowers illustrated the "official children's book of Columbia", "Charley's Columbia Backyard" written by Caroline Coleman Bennett. She has visited many different schools all over the state of SC speaking with children along with the author, Mrs. Bennett, about the book, as well as our beautiful capital city, which she had the great pleasure of illustrating. Mrs. Bowers is currently the Art Instructor of Glenforest School. She attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts, and is a graduate of Dreher High School. She attended Columbia College as an Art Major. Mrs. Bowers is married and has four children: Sarah, Alex, Evelyn Grace and Paul. Mrs. Bowers loves teaching at Glenforest and is inspired by her student's everyday!
