Biography

A little bit about me.... This is my 17th year teaching Visual Art and my 14th year in the Walled Lake school district. I graduated from Wayne State University in 2007 with a BA in Art Education and I graduated in 2014 with my MA in Art Education from Boston University. I love working on new and challenging ideas to enhance my students' art education and I believe all of my students have the ability to live up to their greatest potential! I also believe art helps children problem-solve, work collaboratively, think critically about the world around them, rely on their own judgement in life, and make meaning in the world they live. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy relief printmaking, reading non-fiction (history is my favorite!), baking, nature, running and spending quality time with my family. I'm happily married and have 2 boys ages 7 and 11 who also attend Walled Lake Schools. As a family, we enjoy music, movies, reading, board games, spending time at our cottage and traveling.
