Biography

Hello! My name is Amy Jones and I have been the Art Teacher at Cavendish Town Elementary School in Proctorsville, Vermont for 12 years. Our school has approximately 115 students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

I grew up in Meriden, Connecticut and attended the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford. I graduted in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and then settled in Vermont to pursue a teaching career.

In addition to teaching Art at Cavendish Town Elementary School, I also work as a visiting artist, travelling to other area schools. I offer bookmaking projects that integrate into classroom studies and I collaborate with classroom teachers to design unique projects. I also enjoy volunteering for the Arts-in-Education Program through the Green Mountain Festival Series in Chester, Vermont.

When I find the time create artwork, I love to draw portraits, sketch my own children and paint. My other hobbies include scrapbooking, bookmaking and photography.

At the end of the day, I reside happily with my husband and two children, ages 4 and 7.
