Biography
I'm Zaynab Kouatli, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. Originally hailing from Damascus, Syria, my journey has taken me to rural Nebraska, where I've spent most of my life. It's been a transformative experience, shaping both my identity and my artistic expression.
I pursued my passion for art by studying art education at Wayne State College, a journey that has deeply enriched my understanding of the creative process. As an art teacher, I find immense joy in guiding and inspiring others to explore their own artistic potential.
While my primary medium is oil painting, my artistic endeavors extend far beyond that. I have a profound appreciation for various mediums, often blending them together in my work to create vibrant and dynamic compositions.
In addition to my artistic pursuits, I am also a published writer, with a focus on writing articles related to advocacy. I am deeply committed to using my voice and platform to advocate for social justice and equality.
Beyond art and advocacy, I have a keen interest in entomology and mycology. Exploring the intricate worlds of insects and fungi not only informs my artistic practice but also deepens my connection to the world around me.
