Biography

This is my fifteenth year of teaching, and my second year at J-WMS, and I am so very honored to be here and to be teaching my first passion-art! I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from James Madison University with a license for Art Education k-12. I continued on to earn my Bachelor in Early Childhood Education pre-k-3, where I then entered into my 13 year career of teaching first grade. I am currently working on my Masters in Literacy Education for a Reading Specialist License, and I just may continue on for my Masters in Art as well!

Art is a life-long passion of mine, as is learning in general, and I am truly excited to be revisiting this and making the second half of my career all about art! I believe as artists and innovators, we are constantly learning new things, learning what works, what doesn't work, learning from peers, and it is my desire to help cultivate this excitement in the classroom and to show students their potential! I look forward to a great rest of this year and many more to come!
