Biography

I graduated from McNeese State University with a BA in Visual Art and earned my concentration in ceramics and minor in psychology. After years of focusing on my own art as well as teaching lessons to students of all ages, I went back to McNeese and completed my K-12 Art Education certification in 2017. I began my journey here at T.S. Cooley working as a substitute art teacher in spring of 2018 and accepted a permanent position the following school year.

I believe in education of the arts as well as the emotional wellness and sense of community that creative outlets bring. As an art educator, I seek to provide experiences that inspire self awareness, celebrate diversity, and promote intellectual communication through creative processes.

One of my favorite things about teaching is getting to share my artistic gifts and interests with my students. I love seeing the excitement in their faces when we're exploring new artists, materials, or subject matter and they make real world connections. No matter skillset or natural talent, everyone has the ability to create and express themselves through art. My goal is to help each student find their spark and create artwork that they are proud of!
