Biography

Hello, and welcome to Artsonia! My name is Summer Farris, and I am the Fine Arts teacher at Oakwood Grade School. Before taking on this art and music combo, I have previously taught 6th grade and 3rd grade here at OGS. My love for art started early, always wanting to make things growing up...always looking forward to ART DAY! I received my Art endorsement while completing my Associate's degree at Danville Area Community College before completing my Elementary Education degree at Olivet Nazarene University. I have grown up in a musical family, singing in our church choir and even spending some time as a member of Danville's Chapter of Sweet Adeline's, learning barbershop. I am continuing to look for opportunities to grow in both the art and music fields, and I am loving this new journey! I hope you all love viewing your student's galleries on Artsonia!
