Biography

I have taught art at the Alma Middle School for 33 years. In 1996, I was chosen as"Middle Level Art Teacher of the Year" in Arkansas. I love working with art students. Many of my students have won state, local and national awards. I have two wonderful children and four fantastic grandchildren. Also, I enjoy working with exchange students from other countries. We have hosted 7 and have worked with hundreds of others.
Because of this volunteer position, I have traveled and spoke in many countries and I love their culture and their art. We love Artsonia at our school. It has been wonderful for my students. It has helped many students with their self-esteem. Art is an important part of our curriculum and our gallery is an important part of our school. We use our computer lab to critique other schools from around the world. Therefore, Artsonia is a great learning tool as well as an outlet for self-expression. It has been a valuable part of my career for the last 12 years.
I retired in 2005 and now I'm back teaching part time at our school. In addition, we have two full time art teachers so our art program has grown tremendously. l look forward to having our students work back on line. I retired in 2014 after teaching 35 years. It was a privilege to teach some of the Best art students ever. Thanks Artsonia for making a difference in kids lives.
