Biography

This year marks my 20th year as an art educator, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from Pre-K through 5th grade throughout my career. I am truly honored to be a part of the P.S. 174 community.

I am passionate about teaching art and continually seek new and engaging ways to enhance my students’ creative experiences. My teaching philosophy centers on encouraging every student to do their best and to never give up on themselves. I believe that the Visual Arts offer a powerful avenue for children to build self-confidence, develop self-awareness, and explore their unique perspectives.

Art education also fosters essential problem-solving skills that students can carry into all areas of their lives. In my classroom, I emphasize creativity, perseverance, critical thinking, social emotional learning, and the importance of always striving to do your best.
