Biography

Mrs. Burghy has been a commercial artist for over 30 years and teaching for over 20 of those years. She taught advertising/graphic design 16 years at the Columbus College of Art & Design and has also taught graphic design at Columbus State Community College. She has taught design on the computer using the Adobe Creative Suite which includes; Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and After Effects.

Mrs. Burghy is also an accomplished painter. Her work has been featured on the front page of the Arts section of the Columbus Dispatch and has been in juried shows in Columbus, Ohio.

Mrs. Burghy has worked in advertising as an Art Director in some various companies in Columbus such as Byers Chevrolet, Damon's International and Business First. She has been working with K-12 age children for over 20 years both in teaching art and through Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She enjoys helping students learn history, language, math, science and literature through art to help them gain a greater understanding.

Mrs. Burghy is currently the PR/Advocacy Representative for Central Ohio Art Education Association and is part of the leadership team of the Ohio Art Education Association.

She is also the owner of Kimberly's Creative Canvas, a mobile art company; and the former owner of Designed 4-U an event decorating company that was in Columbus, OH.
