Biography

I have been teaching 5th - 8th grade art at Central School in Glencoe, Il for the past 22 years. Being able to teach art and share my passion for the arts is a truly rewarding experience. As Central School's art teacher I strive to create educational exercises that will provide my students with the technical skills and knowledge of materials so that their work will succeed at the highest level that they are capable of achieving. Through these educational exercises I believe students will enhance their creative skills as well as their critical thinking skills; skills that will help them be effective problem solvers in and outside of school

A focus of mine is to help each student realize that art is for everyone, not just the individual who is talented. Henri Matisse said "creativity takes courage" and I look forward to being their guide in discovering that courage.
