Biography
Mrs. Votruba attended The University of Michigan-Flint where she received a Bachelors of Science in Art Education. She received her Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. She began working for the Saginaw Public Schools at North Middle School. She worked at North for 4 years then transferred to Arthur Hill High School. She is married and has 3 very spoiled dogs. Each year she has award winning art students at various district and community art shows. In 2009 one of her students won the 5th Congressional Art Exhibit, where her work was on display in the corridors of the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. for one year. She involves her students with making decorations for various school events including Homecoming, Prom and stage decorations for Drama and Choir. In addition to teaching art, Mrs. Votruba is also a freelance artist. She draws pencil portraits of people and animals. One of her biggest artistic accomplishments was illustrating a children’s book for a local author.
