Welcome to McCarthy-Towne Elementary School on Artsonia. We hope you enjoy touring the digital art galleries and visit often. All students, grades K-6, will be submitting work throughout the year that they created in Visual Arts class. In the art studio, the hand, the heart, and the head work together as children manipulate tools and materials, express feelings and ideas, and critically think to solve artistic challenges. Studio habits of mind, such as envisioning, observing, reflecting and persisting are practiced throughout the art-making process. Students transform media into creative expressions during units of study that include sculpture, ceramics, woodworking, drawing, painting, printmaking, weaving and mixed media.
