What we perceive as a dull, empty underwater world may not be absence at all, but the limit of our own perception. To the fish, that same space could be rich with meaning we simply cannot access. And perhaps the gaze is mutual—while we look into their world and find it lacking, they may look into ours and see the same void, each of us mistaking our limitations for reality itself. Either way, Jude made a pretty lil fishy!
