Artist Statements and the Holidays
from Ms. Cooper
Dear Parents,

The school year is in full swing and as we approach the holiday season, I encourage you to browse the gift shop, where you can have your child's artwork proudly displayed on a keepsake. They make wonderful gifts.  A portion of the proceeds allow our school to purchase art supplies when needed.

Artist statements are important for the artistic process as it allows each artist to express themselves and share their thoughts on their creations. In order for your child to type their artist statement online please follow the following directions:

1.Go to www.artsonia.com
2. Select student button
3.Enter the school access code:RSNX-HBHB
4.Type in your name and select it from the list
5. Select the artwork you wish to add an artist statement for and click the butto that says "view details"
6.Enter the "title" and "artist statement" in each section
7. When finished, click the save button

Parents, please be aware that if you did not grant permission for your child's work to be visible on the website (and set up an account after that), your child will not be able to enter any artist statement. Permission must be granted first. This can be done by granting permission online or signing a permission slip which will be brought home by your child to be returned to me.

Please email me with any concerns or questions at Scooper7@schools.nyc.gov

Have a great day and holiday!
Ms. Cooper
