Youth Art Month!
from Mrs. Antman
Hello!
Can you believe it is already the end of February? This year seems to be rushing by. As you may know March is youth art month, one of my favoirte months of the year. This month we will be celebrating art made by our students in a number of ways including on the morning show, on display at the Performing Arts Center, and in some contests. We are already working on artwork for our literature inspired All-County contest later this spring. The other two are ones students can make the artwork for at home.

1) Youth Art Month at Morrow - To enter students should create an artwork of their own design and idea at home with help or on their own. Artwork must be brought to school before March 30th. We will announce winners the morning of March 31st the day before spring break.

2) I just recieved notice of this contest by We Are Teachers and The Internation Fund for Animal Welfare.  The details for this one can be found here. I will happily send these off on March 30th (the deadline), so please get any entries to me by March 28th so I have time to pack them up.

And one last note, I wanted to make sure you knew about all the programs available at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta for families. They have a great kids play room on the main floor and on the weekends there are often art making opportunities in the classrooms on the lower level. For more info click here.

I can't wait to see all these artworks!
Thank you for your support of your student artist(s).
Sincerely,

Kathryn Antman
