In this showcase, we really pulled out all the stops! Students of all grade level groups created their best works for this one night show. If you missed it, here are some of their artworks!

Kindergarten: Rainbow Self Portraits
In this lesson, we reviewed rainbow colors and painted vibrant backgrounds. We celebrated our diversity with our first full body self-portrait!

First Grade: Rainbow Ceramic Clouds
In this lesson, we explored clay for the first time! We used texture words to described what we felt, and smoothed the clay after practicing coil techniques. We also learned how to tie knots!

Second Grade: Rainbow Weaving
In this lesson, we used rainbows as inspirition for our first weaving experience! We practiced creating our warp and weft and weaving our rainbow colors in.

Third Grade: Contrast Paintings
In this lesson, we reviewed the principle of CONTRAST which is what allows some parts of artwork to stand out! We learned that colors can be used to contrast. We reviewed warm and cool colors and used them to make abstract expressive paintings that pop!

Fourth Grade: Circle Weavings
In this lesson, we explored weaving using rhythm. Through patterns and weaving, we certainly had a beat!

Fifth Grade: Radial Origami Reliefs
In this lesson, we explored different kinds of symmetry and used radial symmetry and basic origami to make these visually appealing designs! We also connected the art of origami to rocket science and nature!

Sixth Grade: Optical Illusion String Art
In this lesson, we embraced our inner child with some abstract painting stations. Then we used our math and precision skills to thread an optical illusion with the string! These artworks are blacklight reactive!
