For this exhibition, Cater Elementary students chose the work they wanted to display. Because of the varying skills and levels of students, some of the pieces may be unfinished. However, each piece is representative of each students authentic, meaningful work.
As you view the artwork, please read the artist statements included with the pieces to gain more understanding of the artwork. Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) is a nationally recognized choice-based approach to teaching art. Choice-based art education supports multiple modes of learning and assessment for the diverse needs of students.
In our studio we focus on 8 habits that successful artists curate: Develop craft, engage/persist, envision, expresss, observe, reflect, stretch/explore and understand art world.
