3rd Graders Used warm and cool color schemes to create emphasis and the element of line to separate to create shapes and spaces.
Students began with making observations and alanyzing the artwork of artist Ted Harrison.
Each student pre-planned and created thumbnail sketches of various landscape ideas. Students chose the sketch that they liked best and then drew that on a larger scale.
Their lines were traced in glue to create texture and spaces to prevent the watercolor paints from running together.
Using watercolor pencils and paint, students colored in and painted their landscapes paying close attention to their color choices in order to emphasize a particular part of their artwork.
