Art students have started the new year off with an explosion of creativity! After completing Christmas themed art, students finished the semester with some beautiful work and collaboration. The second grade "Squishmallow" drawings were transformed into ceramic rattles by their fifth grade buddies. It was a perfect gift for their buddies just in time for Valentine's Day! The First Semester Middle School Art class created designer shoes in a theme of their choice. Fourth graders learned to cut out unique snowflakes and splatter paint. Third graders learned about artist, Pete Cromer. They created a rare bird using lots of painted paper and collage. Second graders learned about overlapping and color mixing in their "Shape Paintings". First graders learned about artist, Grandma Moses, and created their very own colorful Winter Village. Lastly, Kindergarteners drew a snowman and we discussed cool and warm colors, patterns and shadows. Students also made "Heart Art" influenced by Romero Britto. Please enjoy the slide show, or visit your child's personal online portfolio on Artsonia. They love reading the comments of their "fans". More work to come!
