I am thoroughly enjoying Dante's artwork and the Picasso-inspired, self-portrait is no different. Even though this type of artwork is a complete break from his other pieces, you can see the Dante has developed a style that is all his own and allows you to know his work. I like the choice of colors and the brushstrokes that accentuate certain parts of his face, and his background colors of purple and red add depth and draw your eye back to his face. While the major aspect of this piece is impressionist, I love the realist touch of his neck and green t-shirt - in case you weren't sure it was him - bringing a little humor to the piece.
