Shelly, What an interesting young lady you are. Since the notes you have written cannot be seen clearly from my computer, I am left totally trying to interpret your journey solely from your drawings. It seems your life is filled with colors and shapes so varied, I believe there are many wonderful sides to you. I wish you all the happiness your art seems to portray.

Shelly, I loved you original Galaxy work, and this one is so beautiful. The animals are so well drawn. It is terrific.

Shelly, This picture is absolutely gorgeous!!! The colors are just right and the way they blend into each other is masterful. The stars and constellations seem so real. Terrific job!!!

Your galaxy picture is fantastic and very authentic

Dear Shelly, I see you wrote that you liked the colors. If we are picking out one thing, I like the body of the wolf. I especially like the well thought out position of the legs in mid-air while making the jump. Keep up the good work.

Hi Shelly, I must say that I am impressed. Not only are the subjects beautiful, but the animals seem to have such grace, especially looking at their legs. Keep up the good work

Dear Shelly, The first thing that struck me was how much patience you must have to draw in all those trees, especially the close ones with all the branches drawn. And, your "pointer" so to speak has the same outline as a tree and stands out from, and blends into the forest at the same time. My eye can follow the pointer straight to the point just below the mountain and then up the mountain because the strokes in the mountain, aside from being perpendicular, are similar.

Hi Shelly, I don't know exactly what you were going for, but to me your creation looks somewhat like a turtle, and I think one of the Aztec beliefs is that the earth is a giant crocodile, or turtle or toadlike monster that floats on the sea. So you hit it on the head!!!
Posted 1 year ago by Michele

Oh, my goodness, I know you named this piece "Algae," but that seahorse caught my attention right away. It has always been a favorite of mine. It makes a great centerpiece for the well-balanced depiction of the algae surrounding it. Good job!!!

Dear Shelly, It is a perfect wheel. That must be very hard to do, and you aced it. I also see how the colors blend into one another as I look around the circle. It is all terrific, and the bunnies with hearts are very cute.

Dear Shelly, When I first saw this piece of art, I said to myself "beautiful." It looks something like a goldfinch. It is so well drawn, and the colors are so pretty. Keep up the good work

Dear Shelly, I have seen a number of Mexican folk art animal prints, and you have done a very good job of drawing the animals. The blue and green combination is one of my favorite color schemes. I hope you had a lot of fun doing it.

Hi Shelly, Good job. Your castle reminded me of some the castles I saw when I took trips through Europe. The color of the building on the outside is exactly what some of those old buildings look like. The flagpole and turrets look so authentic. I almost expect to see the King and Queen come out and wave!!!
Posted 3 years ago by Michele

Reminds me of pussy willows which is one of my favorite trees/bushes.

Hi Shelly, This is lovely. The colors are simple but in very good taste. Your work is beginning to look very professional.

Dear Shelly, I am old enough to have seen Andy Warhol's soup can art when it first came out. It was new and special. You have captured the spirit of fun it created. I love your drawings and how the different colors run from one to the other. Good job!!!

Dear Shelly, Wow!! Such strikingly beautiful colors just come right at you. I love all the details as well. Tour talent is growing as you do.

Such a nice picture. I love the color blending you did of the sky. The animals look like they are ready to curl up and sleep for the night. This is a very relaxing picture.

Dear Shelly, I had never heard of this type of art before, so I had to look it up. It seems it is a picture made up of patches to form a scene. You did beautifully with the different colors and shapes. They all fit together so well to form the whole picture. I love all the different animals, including the unicorns!

Shelly, That shield is absolutely beautiful. I understand all the pictures on the shield are supposed to have special meanings. I would love to talk to you about why you chose the horse to be front and center, what the rabbit means to you and why you chose the colors you did. I look forward to more of your work.
Posted 4 years ago by Michele

Hi Shelly, What a beautiful shield! The design is amazing! We love you.

This collage is so much fun. I like that you added beads and so many shapes and color are beautiful.

Shelly, You are certainly teaching me about art. Every time your school has a project about a particular artist, I go to see what the artist was all about. I must say, I have not seen anything like "Lillian Blades Assemblages" before. I think you captured her style very well. I had to smile about your choices of what to includes because I have chains of beads like that in all colors and enjoy them.

Shelly I just looked at your painting of the Winter Birch Trees. It reminds me when I took ride on Trans Siberian Railway in Russia in 1985. We went through a whole forest of birch trees. I think you captured them vey well. I love the background colors. It is like the changing sky on a beautiful day. Keep up the good work.

I love birch trees. Their trunks remind me a lot of the aspen trees here in Colorado and so does the deer. This picture gives me a warm feeling on a winter day.

I love the way the leaves look like they are floating to the ground. Such nice colors. Fall makes me think of playing in a pile of leaves and drinking apple cider. I like hot apple cider do you?

Hi Shelly, It's amazing what people see in paintings. Sometimes it is completely different than what the artist wants to show. When I saw this painting, it looked to me like a colored Easter egg was hatching and all your different kinds of life were being born. Very imaginative.
Posted 5 years ago by Michele

Shelly, I love the way you used colors in this painting. The dress is one way to combine colors and the background is a completely different way to display colors. I am curious to know if it is you in the painting? Look at that happy smile!
Posted 5 years ago by Michele

Shelly, This looks almost like a mixture of the two scenes I see out my window in Fall and Summer. The treetops are the height of my window. The colors in your painting look so real. The mixture of type of leaves make the picture very interesting.
