Stella dear, Your purple dog is so fun! It is a lot like many paintings of blue dogs by a very famous American artist named George Rodrigue. He was born in Louisiana in 1944; your Pawpaw was born in the same state a year earlier (1943). Anyway, I like your painting very much. The colors have a lot of energy in them! It is raining "cats and dogs" here in Florida today -- so I am keeping an eye out for a purple one. :-) Love you, Memaw

Stella -- I love your blue dog. It almost looks like he is thinking about something pretty hard. Hope you are having an okay time at home! We love seeing you and your artwork. PawPaw

These jelly "fish" seem to be having such fun floating around in the sea. I wonder. Could they be on a "snorkeling" adventure? Pawpaw and I sometimes see groups of jellyfish like this one when we are out kayaking. Last weekend we saw a nudibranch (a sea slug)! It is wiggly like a jellyfish but less translucent. Love you!

I love the mix of colors (cool and warm) and mix of lines (angles and curves) in this picture. It is full of life. It has lots of energy! Love you lots.

Stella, What a beautiful horizon -- filled with strawberry hills, pickle spears, popsicles and hearts all a flutter. Love these colors together! Looks to me like you must really enjoy art class. There is somuch warmth and joy in this image. Love you, Memaw

Stella, Those are lovely trees. They remind me of the birch trees we used to pass on our way to the lake cabin in Minnesota. Many thanks! Paw-Paw

She is like a mermaid...who can see underwater without goggles! Her eyes and nose are terrific! She makes me want to go snorkeling. Let's do that sometime soon! Love you!

Fantastic detailed work.

I love the color mix you chose: hot pink and grey are so pretty together. Are the white spikes prickly or soft? Love you,

Stella dear, Your drawing looks like some of masks, baskets and etchings that Pawpaw has from the Congo in Central Africa. I will take a photo of them and send it to you via your Mom's phone. I love the energy in your design -- it almost seems to be wiggling!! Love you!

What a great view of the wilderness at sunrise! Love the different kinds of trees. So fun to hike around with you among them.

It would look great hanging on our Christmas Tree! I found three hidden faces within the picture. Were they put there on purpose? awagramps

Such great colors! The oranges really "pop" against the blue background. One petal seems to have fallen off the flower. Did it blow away in a summer breeze? I love you.

What an eye for color you have! See the red wine color blend you have at the top of your page ...it is like the current color of our living room accent wall. Remember? Well, Memaw and Pawpaw need to repaint that wall and "soften" that shade to a mauve (like the color near the edge of that dish) because we have darker (wood) floors now. But I don't want it to be pink...something with more blue in it maybe... We need your help! Love you.

Stella, I love the textures of this owl. I want to reach out and touch it!! And the colors are different but go together very nicely. By leaving the background around the eyes white, it really makes them "pop!" Much love,

I love your panda bear. Is she clinging to a branch above ground? Or stepping over it? What is she looking at? What does she see? Love you, Memaw

Yummy! It looks to me like the ice cream in your cone has started to soften -- not melt -- I can see it starting to slide...just a little bit. Be careful. Better eat it up quick! We love you! Memaw and Pawpaw

Wow! What a wild and crazy bug! Love the colors and wavy lines. Ten legs, two pincers, and two antennae? Right? Whew -- lots of moving parts and lots to keep count of. Happy Thanksgiving sweetheart! Love you, Memaw
