This is so colorful, Leah! I love the spines on the cactus and the little cactus flowers. Was it hard to do that blending technique? Your pot is very southwestern! Great design.

Well, Leah, this will be the last cup order of your elementary school art career! I have loved every minute of your artistic journey. I hope someday you are sitting in your beautiful home, drinking a cup of coffee out of one of your childhood mugs and remembering year-old Mee Maw.??

It’s just like a kaleidoscope! One of my favorite things ??. I don’t know too much about mandalas, however. You’ll have to educate me about that. It’s really pretty! Can’t wait to see the next project! Love, Aunt Sis

Leah- I really love me this!!!! I used to have Georgia O’Keefe prints hanging in my classroom.

Wow! Looks like a giant eye! There must be some symbolism in what you selected to include. Cool! Cup worthy?

I love the holes in your donuts! They look like the real thing! Cami must be filled with something sweet. She has those sweet strawberry colored bows on each side. The name Gerold cracked me up.
Posted 5 years ago by Melanie
This looks very neat. Did you draw in all the lines too?
Posted 5 years ago by Arnie
Leah - I really liked this one!! Xoxo Mee Maw

Shading is important when drawing!

Leah- Monet is one of Mee Maw’s favorites! You really did a good job capturing his style. I used to have posters of his “Waterlilies” in my classroom. I think I had posters of many of the artists you have been studying in my classroom. Cool, huh!!
Posted 5 years ago by Sue
Is this a practice of patterns?

I always wanted a tree with a swing in it! I’ll bet you miss your tree that had the little disc swing. Even though it made me nervous to watch you push each other, you always looked like you were having so much fun! Xoxo Mee Maw

A wise old owl from a wise young gal! Xoxo Mee Maw

Georgia Okeeffe is one of my very favorite artists! I’m so glad you are studying her art. . I think you reflected her ideas very well, especially the use of southwestern colors. She always got a purple streak of something in her pictures and I noticed you did too! I visited her studio, Ghost Ranch, in Abiquiu, New Mexico, once, and the colors there are just like the ones in your picture! Terrific job!

I used to have Georgia O’Keeffe posters in my classroom! I really like this Leah! Should it be a mug?
Posted 5 years ago by Sue
Leah - is this supposed to be pop art from the 60’s?
Posted 5 years ago by Sue
Mom said you did not want this on a mug, but I wanted to tell you I think it’s pretty cool! You worked really hard on this I can tell! I love you! Mee Maw
Posted 5 years ago by Sue
Leah! That is outstanding! I’ve always been fascinated by 3 dimensional art. How were you able to do that?? I’ll bet it was really hard. I’m super impressed. Love, Aunt Sis
Posted 5 years ago by Melanie
Very patriotic! You did a very thorough job on this! Love, love, love you. Mee Maw
Posted 5 years ago by Sue
The 'old fashioned' must be old, because it is wearing glasses and laying down! Ha! They are my favorite, so I guess that fits! I love the way you used the holes for their mouths. :-)

Leah, this is such a pretty picture. Birch trees are always cool, and because they are white, they really stand out well against the colorful background. And your colors are especially beautiful. I love the way each blends into the one next to it. I like it a lot. Love, Aunt Sis

Leah! I LOVE BIRCH TREES!!!!!! This one is going on a mug! Xoxo Mee Maw

What artist are you learning about? Remember when orange was Noah’s favorite color? Is this piece cup worthy?
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
That is really cool! Your hand just jumps off of the page! It’s funny that it took humans a thousand years to figure out how to do that! I still don’t really understand it. I hope you’ll teach me someday! Love, Aunt Sis
Posted 6 years ago by Melanie
Leah- this is pretty cool! It almost looks like wood grain.
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
I don’t know why, but this reminds me of a jellyfish! You still was a coffee mug with this painting?
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
Beautiful, Leah. This picture really caused a reaction in me, as great art work should. I really love it
Posted 6 years ago by Aunt Sis
Leah I did not order a mug with your artwork called “ the bob“ or the one with the green handprints. If those two are very important to you, I will but I thought you wanted to be a little more selective about what we ordered. Do you have to let me know honey! I love you and your creativity!
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
Shea and Tony and I want to copy you and make hand print pictures! You will have to show us how. Is this one you want On a cup? ??This emoji is from Tony
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
Leah - i will have to look this artist up as he/she must have a certain style. Your elephant is pretty darn cool. Maybe something your mom could use when she decorates Tony’s room. Original artwork makes for excellent decorations! I will have to order a new mug!

I was there when you made this picture! You even let me add a dot or two, but you asked to not get a mug for your collection with this picture.
Posted 6 years ago by Sue (fan)
Was I ever surprised! I thought your work with Mrs. Menske ended last year! I love this picture. It is very cheerful. I love all the dots, like a collar of flower petals, around the big dot in the middle. Another great piece of art!

Is this your mom? Ha!

Is this your mom? Ha!
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
Leah – this is pretty cool! You have to have good control to tear that paper so small. One more mug to add to your trousseau (ask mom to explain this word to you). I am pretty proud of you, my little artist!
Posted 6 years ago by Sue
Hi Leah! The lily leaves and the flowers themselves are very different in this painting, plus I see a lot more purple. I am going to get this picture and hang it next to the first one, like a diptych, to really highlight the subtle changes. Very well done! Love, Aunt Sis
Posted 6 years ago by Melanie
Leah Mae - this artist is one of my favorites!!!!! You are getting better and better with each painting! Xoxo Mee Maw
Posted 7 years ago by Sue

Leah Mae - your green apple ornament is really cool! I know green apples are your favorites, so that makes this one even more special. It almost looks like your Apple is winking at the governor! You are getting to be a very versatile artist! I love you! Mee Maw
