Zoe, you have no idea how happy this piece made us both. It is wonderful and it actually made us bot laugh (in a very good way). Thank you for sharing your work with us. By the way: you nailed it!

This is sensational!

Zoe - The heart symbol is very ancient and is basically unchanged since it was first used. You continue to be a wonderful colorist and whimsical designer. That also applies to the Tree of Life you recently did. I hope your mom didn't notice the bird in the Tree because we all know how she feels about birds! Love, Gramba

Part peacock, part turkey! The use of the space is fantastic.

Zoe, once again you have wonderfully depicted something graphically with which you have very little actual experience: Autumn. This is a beautiful piece of work.

Zoe, This might be your best piece all year, which is saying a lot. It is beautifully simple and your use of space, light, shadow and color is extremely well done. I hope you will continue to work on your own this summer on projects you dream up for yourself.

This is what Big Bird would look like if he were as tall as a pagoda! I bet you had fun doing this one.

Hi Zoe - What do you think I noticed right away about this work? I will give you a second. The tile floor, of course! This whole piece is sensational, but the perspective added by the tile floor makes it another step in your understanding of how that idea works. The small details and whimsical touches add life to the composition. There is so much joy in this picture. Thank you for making me laugh and smile and be proud of you. Love, G

Zoe, both of your recent pieces - the self-portrait and this pagoda - made me smile. The self-portrait captures you just the way I often think of you: bright and curious. The pagoda is wonderful. It shows you were paying close attention when the Dr. Seuss books were part of your education. I would actually like to visit this pagoda. Watercolors are hard, but they are fun, aren't they? Your fine use of materials continues to be one of the strongest features of your work. Thank you - and Austin - for keeping me a part of this.

Zoe I have written to you a little about this piece already, but the more I look at it the better it gets. Our friend Scott was here this weekend and I showed him your work and Austin's. He is a pro photographer with a good eye and he said, "She knows how to use color!" I agree. But it's more than that. Your ideas have a completeness which you render with skill. The use of two contrasting shades of blue in this work is wonderful. I know you have a lot of activities, but I hope you will continue doing art on your own time. In that way you can take your own time and think even more fully about what you want to do and say with your work. Not many people your age are capable of this, but I think you certainly are. Thank you for keeping Grandma and I in your Artsonia group. We love you.

This is another excellent use of light and color, with details that unify the composition. Very nice work, Zoe.

Zoe, this is a beautiful piece of work. It is not surprising that you are showing a consistent style in your work. I have a dozen things I would like to say about your art, but I will send that in a letter. Thank your for including us in your website. We love you very much. G&G
