This artistic gem caught my eye from the start! It was my first announcement that Artsonia was back in action! The playfulness of those whirling wisps and shapes made me think about leaves and forest beauty. What were you thinking about as you painted it?

Gorgeous, Addy! The bright, cheery flowers make me so happy. They glow even more with the dark blue, stormy background. I find that the curvy, brown vase really enhances the sunflower centers. I look forward to seeing it decorate your house!

Wow, what a collage of balance artistically and figuratively! How did you choose the different paper pieces? Did you tear or cut the paper? I love how you drew the main character. Her eyes, smile, and expressive arms help me experience her joy in her gymnastics experience. I seem to think you felt the same in creating her!

I saw this piece of artwork you created, Adelyn, and I thought, "Is this for real? Adelyn designed this? Where did she get the materials?" I noticed two characters working together to get a job done, and my heart smiled. That is a wonderful idea to communicate through your art, Adelyn. I marveled at one character holding the cup in the perfect position to receive the liquid. I was curious to find out if that was medicine, something to drink, or a need for a lot of hand sanitizer. I am impressed with the story you told as well as how it enabled to stir my imagination. Thanks for sharing this with me. :)

This art piece really makes me want to have a picnic! I’m imagining this as the picnic blanket on a grassy hillside on a bright and sunny day. I love how you used mostly primary colors, with a few black squares as accents. Thanks for sharing this artwork!

You drew my favorite flowers, and you colored them with my favorite color—yellow!!! How lovely. They are so beautiful, I can almost smell their natural perfume. Which room would you put these in if you could choose? I am imagining them on your dresser. I really like all of the colors you used in the background. The red and blue blend so nicely in some pots to make purple! I love this, and I love you.

Another happy friend!!! They are all so cute. My heart is exploding with cuteness. I really like how you used different colored paper and different shapes cut from the paper to make this fabulous buddy. I bet he’s smiling so big because he knows how much he is loved and because he loves YOU so much!

Oooooooh!!! This little guy is SO cute. I just love him. And I’m so happy that he has an owl friend. Is that his best friend? I wonder when they have time to play together since the owl is nocturnal and the giraffe is diurnal. What if the giraffe becomes nocturnal to spend more time with his owl buddy? That would make for a great story. This picture just makes me so happy and fills up my bucket.

Ooh la la! How fancy! I love the beautiful swirls and colors. Fancy Nancy would definitely want to hang this up in her bedroom. I really like how one side of the painting is very swirly and the other side contrasts this with clean, structured lines. I also enjoyed the tiny polka dots, which upon closer inspection look like little hearts. It’s like your love is exploding all over the page! Love you.

Thanks for this beautiful bouquet of sunflowers, Adelyn. I really am amazed that you have learned to draw individual petals and even made one flower taller than the rest. The title "Happy Guys" made me smile.

Hi, Adelyn. I am totally mixed up. Is that a giraffe monkey or some kind of a new animal like that? Does it love to swing? One thing I can see is that it is happy to be whatever. I love this color wheel. The artist colored the perfect rainbow wheel. I enjoy the different textures of each color. It makes each color so unique! Just simply amazing!

Artist Adelyn, You have taught me something new again through your art piece. I did not know the artist Modrian until your piece appeared in your gallery. Like him, you used primary colors in a grid-like pattern. It reminds me of a colorful checker board. Did you learn anything else about Modrian? I wonder what he would learn from you. :) -- Nuggie

I am actually so excited to tell you this, Adelyn. Before I even read what your art project was about, I viewed your art piece and thought, "Wow, this one kind of looks like hieroglyphics, Egyptian letter and picture characters to communicate a story or message. I also remembered us talking about Sir Francis and "imagined him in your picture." So as I scanned the images, I spotted the girl riding an animal. Then I laughed and thought, "Imagine Adelyn riding Sir Francis!" I also noticed that many of the animals have different features. Wow! These colors really caught my attention. I love how you blended all of the colors together in the background. In some of the areas, I can see that you used more paint, or maybe just more brushstrokes, to create a darker color within the same color to give it a swirling effect. So pretty, sweet Adelyn! This piece of artwork has my imagination running all over, Adelyn. At first, I appreciated the way you selected the backround colors to make the person stand out. Then I thought of E.T. saying, "HOME." Next, I thought the blue and white in the backround was a snow-capped mountain range with the sun beaming behind it. The explorer seemed to be thinking about its majestic beauty and her desire to climb it. What did you picture as you created it? -- Nuggie

Sweet Bubs! Even though this figure doesn’t have a face, I can tell by her pose that she is happy and may even be dancing! I can’t wait to hear about the ideas you have for this girl. Ooh la la! I know these aren’t rainbow fingerprints because you told me they were brush strokes, but wow! I’m wondering if we can add this to the wall in the basement (in the girls’ club area)? It would be a fabulous addition. I love all the different colors you used, and I love how the whole page is covered, even the corners and edges. Extra, extra! Read all about it! Adelyn’s picture stuns and amazes crowds from across the country! This picture is so cool! I love the technique you used to create a page on the page. Your lines are so neat and clean. Having the warm colors on opposite corners and then the cool colors in the other corner was such a great idea. I also really like how the shapes toward the top are all colored in, and then the shapes toward the bottom are left uncolored. Wow, Adelyn! What a vibrant purple you chose for this picture! I can see that you used such careful brush strokes in painting the background and in painting around the word “drawing.” Was it hard work to paint so carefully? Artist Adelyn, I am a fan! In this drawing, the girl grabbed my attention with her smile and lively arms and legs. You even added details to the dresser: drawers and knobs. Is that a picture frame on the other side? Clever...a picture within a picture. I am also amazed by your window. Since you colored everything else, it makes the white look like glass. Hello, Artist Adelyn. Your painting made me smile for so many reasons. First, I love all of the colors. It looks like a rainbow dispersed into raindrops. Can you imagine rainbow raindrops? Second, you spaced out the brush spots so evenly and allowed them to run off of the paper. That is impressive and shows much patience and care. WOW! What an explosion of color! I love how the art jumps off the page, and at the same time, it makes me want to jump into this picture. The geometric shapes overlap to create such an interesting pattern, and the scrunchy shapes remind me of cotton candy clouds or bursting blooms from a magical garden.
