I LOVE MY PILGRIM CUP! She is keeping me happy as I drive around the school with my ART CART this year. She keeps my drinks from tipping over. She also holds pens, pencils, clips, etc...if I need her to do that. She makes me feel thankful and I find myself adjusting my attitude when I see her.

My kid...added a laughing person and a chicken. Hahaha. You are funny. I think your art teacher (aka Mom) gave instructions to draw your head, neck and shoulders. You could draw yourself with a mask or gator. You wore a gator that day.

Oh this project was not your favorite! It was frustrating to you because it was hard to sew. It was your first time, so I think you may have to try some more sewing. I think you will really like it. (I got smart after this project and bought enough hole punches so that students will not have to share in the future. It was hard for everyone to be patient!)

You made this colorful Scarecrow with Mrs. Lewis. I really like how you made the stitches around the patches and on the mouth. You named her Bean. She is cute!

I LOVE these silhouetted mountains and the gorgeous peachy sky! So beautiful, Claire!!!

I love how you made your cow do a handstand! She is so cute! I liked how you added a pond with a lily pad. That made your artwork unique. I also thought you did a great job on the barn. I hope you had fun making brown by mixing your red and green watercolors. I love being your art teacher!

Claire, I am loving all your art, and I especially love this one, because it keeps me reminded that the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive. I know you work hard on your projects, and the Lord has given you a real talent to bless people with your art work. Thank you!

I love my girl! This is a great self portrait. I like how you added some cute freckles across your nose!
Posted 5 years ago by Karen (Mother)

Oh how you love dogs. You learned about el perro in Spanish and created a puppet for Fire Safety month. He is so cute!
Posted 5 years ago by Karen (Mother)

This project was a bit more challenging for you, remember? We learned about different types of lines. You tried making curved lines but were just not super happy with them. I am glad you persevered. You did a great job on your curl, "boi-oi-oing" (spiral), and accordion fold "vines." I look forward to seeing you use these techniques in the future!

I like how you mixed red and brown paint to make a good Red Delicious apple color. I like how you cut out a HUGE bite. I like how you added a highlighted spot on your apple. I see your cutting and gluing skills and I am proud of you! Keep up the good work!

Wow, Claire. You worked hard filling in all of those corn kernels on your flint corn. It took a lot of patience. You made some really cool colors, too. You cut the "husks" but I'm pretty sure I cut out your corn for you. You had a full PINK cast on your arm and it was hard to hold the paper to cut. Remember that?! Daddy LOVES this and wanted a coffee mug, so we got him one! You know how much he loves his coffee! He loves you even more than that! (So do I!) Flint corn is really hard and is mostly used for decor in the Fall. Isn't it beautiful?! I think God must really love color and texture as well as variety and unity. We see all of these things in corn on the cob! I love all the Fall things that remind us how very blessed we are! Let's always be thankful for our faith, freedoms, family, food, friends, Fall, fun and medical people who go to work on Thanksgiving!

You made a really nice sky blue out of turquoise and white tempera paint. I liked how you used the end of your paint brush to create snow in the sky. Your cutting skills are really good in Kindergarten! Those snow drifts are well done! (Wavy lines) Painting triangles is not the easiest thing at this age, but you did great! This made such a fun coffee mug for our extended family gift exchange at Christmas. Twanz REALLY wanted the set with yours and Sissy's trees. I think there were some others who would have stolen them from him if he hadn't left early to go to work. :) I'm glad I had some extras made!

Claire, You did a great job mixing black into the white Model Magic to create the gray tomb! Wasn't it fun making a pinch pot, turning it upside down and then cutting a "pizza slice" out of it? The stone that rolled away is very well made. Nice job "smashing it into a pancake!" I hope you enjoyed mixing yellow and blue paint to make the green grass in the garden as much as I enjoyed watching you do it. It is so fun being your art teacher! The most important thing I want you to remember from this lesson is that "He is not here! He has risen, just as he said!" Luke 24:12 says "...Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened. Your folded "cloth" is there to remind us that this was witnessed by real people and helps prove (among other things) that Jesus died, was buried and rose again. Thank you for helping me worship this Easter! I look forward to displaying your empty tomb at home so everyone who sees it will know the Good News! We have a powerful God who loves us sooooo much! John 3:16
