Hello, Caitlin, I enjoyed this landscape with the fluffy clouds. There is a touch of impressionism, and I know how you love Monet. Keep making delightful art. Grandpa

Hi Catlin, Very peaceful landscape! I like your use of shadow, shading and perspective. I can almost hear the birds singing in the trees. Nice place for a picnic! Grandma

Hi, Caitlin, Is this your first Zentangle? I like the design very much! Did you do a rough draft first, using pencil? I've been experimenting with this format myself, but only practice ones, in pencil. This reminds me of the sun, sending our mysterious rays! Love, Grandma

Scintillations, Caitlin, Your latest architectural design is definitely Zentacular! It would make a splendid design for the inside of a pottery bowl. Keep having fun with your creativity. Sincerely, GP

Scintillations, Caitlin, You depict one happy panda. He appears to be sleeping and dreaming about eating some delicious eucalyptus leaves. He reminds me of Peppermint who often dreams about food as well. Love, Grandfather

Hi, Catlin, Very nice work! I like the perspective you chose for this painting. A very endearing panda, and a good composition. Love, Grandma

Hi, Caitlin, Nice weaving! Those are some of my favorite colors. They remind me of the Swedish flag! I'm so glad to see that you are continuing your art work while at home in these strange times. I know you miss having art class at school, especially as you only have it the second half of the year. Keep up the good work! Love, Grandma

Hi, Caitlin, Nice work! Was this inspired by one of your friends? I'm really enjoying all the variations of your portraits, and your color choices. Love, Grandma

Dear Caitlin, I've seen many of your portraits, and each one is different! I like this one very much, and I can see the ways it is a self-portrait, and ways it is not(you don't have any purple hair, and you do wear glasses!). Glad you're continuing your art while you are "quarantined" at home. Keep going! Love, Grandma

Hello, Caitlin, I feel an affinity with your goldfish; it seems to be exploring its realm and enjoying the view. You have a delightful style which manifests itself in the wavy background and hydrotropic plants reaching toward the aquarium. A thought-provoking work. Your venerable grandfather...

Neat picture Caitlin... I looked at the pic on my phone and then I really looked at it. Wow! I have the plant with common name Chinese Money plant and love the way the stem joins the leaf and you captured that quite well. That's the reason I bought it. Color of the goldfish and the pot keep the eye moving. Over all colors warm and whatever technique you used interesting. Charcoals with a bit of smudging makes it interesting......

Love this, Caitlin! Your goldfish is glowing, and your plant looks very dimensional. Excellent job and a lovely picture. Keep up the great work! Love, Deb

Hi, Caitlin, I love your picture, especially the way you portrayed the water in the tank. Like the fish, too! Could this be the tank you helped to move today?! Great composition. Love, Grandma

Caitlin, Very good work! I know how difficult it is to draw trees. They are my favorite things in nature, but I find them very challenging! Sometimes I draw the impressions of leaves, instead of trying to draw their full shapes. I like the way you did the shading, too. Love, Grandma

Caitlin, I think this is one of the best works you have done! I'm impressed with the way you keep growing in your art. I'm glad you tried acrylic, too. Love the complementary purple and yellow background! When I look at this work, I think of you playing your ukulele. Love, Grandma

Musical felicitations, Caitlin, I was struck by the lavender serpentine motif around your ukulele. You truly capture the essence of the instrument, and I can hear the music resonating within it. Very creative.

Hi, Caitlin, What an interesting project! It looks like it was a lot of fun. Aunt Deb will enjoy seeing it; she's a very good weaver. I think this would be a good project to do at home, too. Nice colors! Love, Grandma

Hi, Caitlin! This drawing is just wonderful! I knew right away from the dress that it was probably a cast member from Hamilton. She has such a mischievous, sweet expression. Your artistic skills have really begun to shine! All the art projects you've posted on Artsonia show you must enjoy experimenting with various media and styles. Keep 'em coming!! Love, Deb

Hi Caitlin! I really like your sea otter! She's lying on her back, just the way sea otters do when they're eating shellfish. I know that origami can be difficult to do -- we've done some together -- and I think you're getting better at it! Love, Grandma

Hi Caitlin, I just had to smile when I saw your Sea Otter.... We saw them in California and they had the same body pose while they tried to break open a small shell with a rock. So much fun to stand and listen to them at the aquarium. They look so friendly and the eyes on yours make him or her look like a friend. I hope you are enjoying your class..... I wish I had had an opportunity like yours. Enjoy and create....Joyce

Caitlin your art is amazing i really hope one day u can come to Florida and see a dolphin in person
-- Wynn
- on March 28, 2018
Caitlin, what a fabulous painting!! The subtle colors you used in the dolphin define his shape beautifully and are so realistic! And they make a wonderful contrast to your vigorous primary colors in the water and sky. There is so much energy in his leap shown in the splashing water, too. Great job!!!
-- Deborah
- on March 28, 2018
Dear Caitlin, Another wonderful work of art! I really like the primary colors you used for the background. The leaping dolphin and the water splashing up behind it are very dynamic. I wish there were some dolphins at the Aquarium, don't you? Someday you'll go to Florida and meet dolphins in person! Love, Grandma

Hi Caitlin, Wow, I think this project looks as if it is a lot of fun and hard work. Do you have a picture or a photo to look at or do you have to remember all the details of a cat? If you had to create it from memory it seems as if you would have to be very observant and be able to remember all the details. I know, that you know, that you chose a perfect color for your cat. I wonder if Sassy, our Golden Retriever, would be friends with your cat if it was real. It certainly looks friendly. The shading on its ears makes her or him look warm and friendly along with the pink nose and blue eyes. Keep on learning and practicing and you'll have so much enjoyment as you get better and better.....
