How pretty, Maya! Did you get to chose the colors of this basket yourself? If so, you did a great job, I love those two colors together! Was this your first time weaving? Do you know what I weaved a couple summers ago? Bacon!! Yes, when we were at the lake, I weaved bacon around a pork tenderloin roast. Next time, I do that...YOU can help me! It is a fun technique, isn't it? What are you putting in the basket? Easter Candy? Or did you eat it all already? We had a fun Easter and birthday celebrating weekend. Hope you enjoyed it too! The basket is beautiful. Great job.

This is a beautiful piece of art, Maya! It will really brighten up your room when you put it in the vase. IF you ever want to practice using clay...I bet your mom or Grandmas would love to have one as well! It looks so real, I can almost smell the fragrance! Good job, Maya!

It really DOES look like a cactus, Maya! So, would my shoe cactus take two pages to make? Have you ever eaten cactus? I have! It was called Prickly Pear Cactus. It was very good with ranch dressing! We had it when we went to Sedona, Arizona. It was the same place Grandpa and I went up in a hot air balloon! That was soooooo fun! Hope to see you soon!

Maya, I think this is one of your very BEST drawings! I love the top bird (you) smelling the flower. The biggest bottom bird (Dad) really has a load to hold up! The middle bird (Mom) is trying to be real steady so you don't fall. How did the flower smell? I can't wait for the flowers to grow outside again. Pretty picture! Great job!
- Grandma GG on May 6, 2020
What a colorful picture! You made the little bird look like he was stretching to smell the flower. I love the wiggly flower too.

Wow, Second Graders! What an outstanding job you've done with your Rainbow Trees! They are all so beautiful. I hope you will hang them in your windows to put that little ray of hope that a rainbow can bring to all of us. I miss you guys! Mrs. A

ROAR!! I like your Simba! It reminds me of the movie we went to...The Lion King! How fun! Kinda scary too, though. How did you do such a good job drawing this upside down? I sure couldn't do that! You are a superb artist!

This project looked like a lot of fun! Did you enjoy working with the modeling clay? It is kind of like play dough, right? What a cute snowman! The diorama really adds to your finished art work, too. Have you made a snowman outside this winter yet, when it was melting? We have plenty of snow and thawing days ahead. Great job, Maya!

I like this a lot! Did you know we have an eagle's nest on our land? Two eagles come back every spring to the same nest and raise a family. It is a lot of fun to see them flying around and roosting in the trees.

Very patriotic and very appropriate for Veteran's Day. I will be sure to show grandpa your picture.
- Karen on January 2, 2020
Very nice, Maya. I remember doing these silhouettes many years ago, when I was in art class. It really makes the picture stand out, just as your veteran is doing. Is this Grandpa Larry? Keep up the good work and God Bless America! We enjoyed your school program last night too. You said your part so loud and clear. Good job!

That's a cute bunny, Maya! I think his name is Peter. "Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail!" Are watercolors fun to work with? They really add to the beauty of your picture! Great job! This gets me in the mood for spring with all the flowers!

Hi Maya, This is Grandpa Ron. This is a very nice looking cow! When I was a young boy, we had cows this same color. They were called Holsteins. I would milk these cows twice a day, in the morning before school and after I got home from school at night. This reminds me of those milking days. You are an excellent cow artist! Keep up the good work!

These are the most beautiful snowflakes I have ever seen! And everyone is different, just like real snowflakes. Every person is different too, right? That's what makes our homes and communities and our world an interesting place. Good work, Maya!

What beautiful snowflakes! And every one is different. Just like people, Maya, every person is different too. You had to do a lot of cutting to do this project. Great job! Now, we are ready to get on the airplane to come home to many snowflakes. No more sand and beach for a while! Love you, GG

Oh, it's the Great Pumpkin Patch! I think this is very artistic, Maya. You made the back one lighter (yellow) to show it is further away. And the darker pumpkin is close up. Very nice. How did you like coloring with pastels? I haven't done that since I was in school. That was a very long time ago! Keep listening to your art teachers directions. She must be smart too! Love the pumpkins!

What a beautiful owl this is, Maya! I love how you overlapped the little white papers to look like feathers. Did you have fun cutting all those little pieces and gluing them in the plate? I saw an owl on my way to the lake a couple weeks ago. They are beautiful birds! You are a wonderful artist. See you soon, GG

These flowers are SO colorful, Maya! Are they for me? I also like the painted fingernails. You did a great job with this picture. Are you ready to plant flowers in your flower pots at home? This summer you will see lots of flowers. Everything looks so colorful when God adds flowers to his creation. Have a great summer vacation, Maya! Hope to see you soon!

Here comes Peter Cottontail!! Hoppin' down the bunny trail...hippity hoppity Easter's on its way! This is the song I had in my head as soon as I saw this quite rabbit! I didn't know you could make a heart for the nose and I love how the floppy ears are bent forward. It makes the rabbit more real, doesn't it? Great job, Miss Maya!

OOOOOOHHHHH, the Cat in the Hat!! These stories are my favorites! Like, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish! This piece of art is spectacular! I LOVE YOUR LION, MAYA! And, you drew this one UPSIDE DOWN? That must have been SOOOO hard to do, but you did a great job. I love the lion's green eyes! And, he looks like the cowardly lion on the, "WIZARD OF OZ!" Your art teacher said you got to use watercolors to do the lion's mane and the face. I bet that was fun! Keep up the great work, Maya! Love you, GG

I love your new piece of art, Maya! The Olympics have been fun to watch! Have you seen some of the events on tv? The gold medal you made is beautiful with the olympic rings, and gold textured part which really makes it look like a real Olympic Gold medal! I love the U.S.A. ribbons that go with it too. You did a great job and I hope you had fun learning about the Olympics while doing this project. Thanks for sharing your talent! Happy Valentine's Day, Maya! GO USA! Love you, GG

Hi Maya! I am enjoying seeing all your artwork on the computer! What a great way to see what you have been doing in art class at school! The Santa is my favorite! I love the fluffy white beard you gave him and the fur on his hat and tassel all give him a festive Christmas look! I have never seen such beautiful blue eyes on Santa Claus before either! Did you know your Grandpa Ron has beautiful blue eyes too? I miss the Santa Claus we had standing in our house, remember the one that sings and dances? In 10 more months we can get him out of the basement and bring him to the living room again. Christmas is my favorite holiday. What is your favorite holiday, Maya? I think I like it the most because all our family is home and we get to fondue, open presents and have an indoor snowball fight!! Do you remember when we did that? It was so funny when you three girls surprised your parents, Kale, Carly, Justin, and Grandpa when you bombed them with the snowballs. Let's do that again next Christmas, okay? Thank you so much for sharing your artwork with me. I am going to enjoy seeing all the things you create during the school year! You are such an awesome artist, Maya! Keep up the good work! Hope to see you soon! I love you!
