A Remembrance Day poster. Your symbols are very meaningful. In war torn Europe even the fields had been unable to grow crops because they too had been decimated. Yet somehow after all those soldiers who had died were buried in a field that had been given to the army, poppies began to grow by the hundreds and thousands. It was almost as though God placed His hand on that land and blessed those young men who had died fighting for freedom from tyranny. -- Nana

Cameron. You are using bold colors, and strong designs as the vivid background for the strong heart you drew. I think you have a strong and kind heart and that it is full of goodness. -- Nana

Cameron. I don’t quite understand this painting. I think I need your help. But what I do see is two happy cats. If you were to crease the middle of the picture in half, both cats would be walking upright! Your drawing is full of bold colors. I can tell you love cartooning. Keep up the good work. Your art projects always make me smile. -- Nana

Cameron, your fish is delicately done. I can almost see the water moving ever so slightly as the fish moves quietly through the water. What a great effort to achieve such a picture. -- Nana

Cameron. It looks as though you are getting excited about Halloween. I see some mean looking pumpkins, a black cat who seems pretty scary, and some kids in costumes. Your drawing speaks to me of many scary things. Myself, I would rather that Halloween be lots of fun and laughter and not scary at all. -- Nana

Cam. I wonder if this bird really has a letter in its mouth? If it is, then it would be like the pigeons in days gone by that used to carry messages far away. That was long before we had normal mail delivery. But your bird is much more colorful than a pigeon is. -- Nana
Posted 7 years ago

Is this little bird delivering a message? What a cute drawing you made here! -- Alison

Is that a teddy bear holding a heart? Teddy Bears can bring people so much comfort. When you are sad, you can hold them really close. Somehow it makes your heart feel a little better. You did a very special job of this drawing. I -- Nana

Cameron, I like your drawing of the Eiffel Tower. I have seen it in Paris. It is one of those places that continues to draw thousands of tourists everyday. And at night time, it is all lit up. What a magnificent silhouette it makes against the dark night sky. -- Nana

Cameron. You did a lovely job ofthe Eiffel Tower! Did you know Papa and I saw the Eiffel Tower when we were in Paris? At night time it’s all lit up so even when it’s dark people can see it for miles and miles. Thank you for your drawing. It brought back some great memories. -- Nana

Cameron.. When I look at this picture, I can tell you are a happy little boy. The sun is shining, the kitty is perched high in the barn, the puppy looks playful and that dear yellow bird somehow reminds me of how special your Nugget is. The person in the drawing with his hand held high seems to feel very happy with his life. Could that be you? -- Nana

Oh this self-portrait makes me smile! Your big grin under your hockey cage, holding your stick ready for action, the cheering crowd, the advertising on the boards, your Oilers Jersey and the net around the boards. Such a great picture in the heart of the sport! Go Cameron go!! -- Alison

Butterflies are the most exquisite of all the insects. What a story they have starting out as a caterpillar, building a cocoon to nest in, and then struggling mightily to break free of the cocoon in order to spread their wings and fly away. I read about a kid who thought he would help a butterfly leave the cocoon by pulling the cocoon apart. However, getting out the easier way actually left the ?? ill equipped to fly. The process of struggling actually gave the butterfly the strength to fly and to live. I think life is like that too. Sometimes we too struggle with people and with situations in our lives. But if we push through, often we have more strength and wisdom to navigate with too. -- Nana

Those are some great looking fish. I wonder what they are going to get up to today. -- Nana

Your fox looks ready for action. I wonder if he is looking for something tasty to eat. This picture reminds me of a book that I have read over and over. The book is called The Little Prince. The Little Prince was lost in many ways and the fox taught him what was really important in life. and how to find it. He said that what is esssential in life is invisible to the eye. It’s not the eye but the heart that sees. -- Nana

The sun is rising. The snow is melting. The small creeks formed by the melting snowhave turned into torrents at the bottom of the mountain. Makes me want to take a big breath in and smell that fresh mountain air. I love going to the mountains. -- Nana

When I see this drawing, I am excited that spring is coming back to our land. I am reminded that flowers will bloom, that all the ice will turn back to water, that we can lay on the soft cool grass and watch the clouds go by, and that it will be easy to have fun outside. -- Nana

Another wonderful watercolour featuring beautiful spring flowers. I'm beginning to repeat myself, but again, I love the soft pastels you have used here. I am especially impressed that you kept the orange and green from bleeding into each other - definitely a challenge for watercolour paints. Congratulations on another fine project. -- Oma

Hey Cameron, my talented grandson! This artwork is in Oma and Opa's wheelhouse. Did you know that we used to take care of holstein cows for Opa's uncles' dairy farms when they went on holidays? You certainly have brought back memories of contented cows chewing their cuds in the pasture. Aside from the great memories, I especially love the vividness of the drawing: the black and white of the cow definitely stand out against the bright background. FABULOUS!!! -- Oma

Your Holstein cow reminds me of a time when I really embarrassed myself. I was in a group from my school. We were competing against another school to see who knew the most right answers. We were doing this on TV. Most of my Aunties and Uncles and Grandparents were watching the show. They were all farmers. When the moderator asked “What color is a Holstein Cow?” , I pushed the buzzer and then said brown and white instead of black and white!! I embarrassed myself on TV with all my friends and family watching!!!!!! -- Nana

All the colors of the rainbow are present in your picture of the orchid. Rainbows are signs of hope. So is the coming of spring and the first flowers that bloom. That’s what I love about this piece of your artwork. -- Nana
Posted 7 years ago

Your very first flower, an orchid, inspired by the upcoming orchid fair at the Enjoy Centre! I love how strong your orchid is standing, reaching up into the beautiful sky! A lovely piece full of nature's beauty! I look forward to seeing it on display on April 6th, 7th, and 8th! Great job!! -- Mom

Cameron, you have moved from an intricately detailed drawing (your skateboarder) to this drawing which is even more powerful in its simplicity! There is absolutely no question in my mind as to what the focus of this art is. I love your fox, right down to the white tip of his tail. While your drawing appears simple, you have managed to again add an element of uncertainty...what is the fox looking at so intently? The unanswered question makes this another of your special artworks. I love it! Oma -- Oma

Hey Cameron! I love this drawing, and all the intricate details you put into the scene! I especially enjoyed you telling me where your inspiration for this artwork came from, and then, how you added your special sense of humour. I'm sure I would be as scared as the kitty if I were heading for the "Drop of Doom". Well done. Oma -- Oma

I found this a mysterious drawing. It took me a long time to see the fish so quietly swimming among all the plants and things on the bottom of the sea. It’s amazing how God protects his birds and animals and fish by providing environments that camouflage them. Nana Sent from my iPhone -- Nana
