Powerful statement and arresting images, horror beneath the beauty invite us to examine what's going on more deeply.

Isaac this art work IS very powerful and very powerfully ART. I appreciate how you use this image of the bird killed by ingesting plastic to express your outrage and your sadness. One image “explodes” on the page, others appear to be one thing only to reveal something very different than expected, appearing to be random beautiful effects which draw the viewer in for a closer look only to encounter the sadness and loss of a beautiful life to the wasteful convenience of the modern human world. This is a very mature work. I applaud your vision and the brilliant way you have executed it using your impressive skill with the digital medium.

What a wonderfully bright and cheerful graphic you’ve designed Isaac. This would make a terrific repeating design for fabric ( I’m seeing it on a shower curtain, for example) or a notebook cover, etc. I love your palette choices.

Isaac, looking over your gallery for the year allows me to see how much progress you’ve made, both in your technique and in your willingness to stretch yourself and try challenging things. Learning to see what is there (reality) and then learning to see what you experience is there (imagination) are crucial to both doing art, and letting art happen through you. I look forward to making art with you over the summer and to watching you grow as an artist next year!

Great job on the shoe Isaac- you got the details really well, good perspective , especially with the shoelace . Id love to see you work with some higher quality drawing pencils so you can get more contrast in your work- we’ll just have to take a trip to Michaels.

Isaac you have captured and expanded the meaning of the reliquary. I love your statement about your family and it’s special meaning to you. “Modern” people may no longer keep reliquaries in the same way, but usually find some way to keep their precious things close in their hearts and home. Your house is the perfect example of this. I’m so glad to be a part of your family and to celebrate your work in Art. Great job!

Interesting piece -I like the way the round thing- I'm assuming that is a death star- is coming apart on the right side. Nice depiction of movement and the aftermath of destruction.

I love the title you choose for this piece Isaac. I would love to hear about your thinking about this piece as you were creating it. For example: did you have a specific person or character in mind as the crosser into the flame?what does the flame represent to you? How do you see the changes that would happen to the one who crosses the threshold? Would they die or be transformed in some way? Very evocative work.

This is a striking found poem- it will stay with me for awhile as it may with you. Making a good found poem (you may have it called by another name) is not easy. I appreciate the way your icreasingly bold black outs deepen the meaning of the poem and give an emotional edge even greater than the poem itself.
