Wow this picture caught me by surprise. You did a very good likeness. Good job!

Hey Ciaran, this looks pretty good. I don't know why, but he looks like a basketball player. Was he supposed to be? Anyway, great job.

Hello Ciaran —- I like the bold colors and shapes in your drawing. To further my understanding of your work, I looked up a definition of the neurographic art method. According to Google, neurographic art is a meditative and intuitive artistic process that links the unconscious and conscious mind via neurons. Is that what you did? My interpretation? Draw what comes to your mind, but without thinking. Hard to do!!! However, your drawing seems an excellent example of neurographicisity. Well done! Love, G’pa

Now this is very interesting. I like your color combinations. I'm not sure what it is but if it has love I like it.

Hello Ciaran —- Back in the long-ago when I was 13, there was a popular song titled “Ghost Riders in the Sky”, sung by Marty Robbins. (I played it for you a few months ago.) Perhaps you could title your drawing as “Ghost Airplane in the Sky”. Looks suitably ominous! And mysterious. Good job being creative. Love, G’pa

Hello Ciaran —- I’m sending you a waaay overdue comment on your art work. I promise to do better next year. First, this is a well composed and colorful drawing, contrasting abstract art with an Andy Warhol type bit of realism (i.e., the NASA logo). Good job! Second, the teacher-suggested genre was Cubism. But, no cubes in your work! You’ve left Cubism behind, and created a new genre — Spherism. Well done! Love, Gpa

Love this picture. I like the way it's coming out of the clouds. Great colors too.

Very fitting for the season. Love your brush strokes. Your apples look delicious too.

Hello Ciaran —- I like your newest art work. It’s very intriguing, with lots of mysterious symbolism. My guess is that the various circles represent planets, but in “peculiar” orbits, with Earth being the largest. Am I right? With respect to what appear to be numbers, I’ve got no clue! Like I said — mysterious symbolism. Keep on being creative! Love, G’pa
Posted 1 year ago by Grandpa Jim

This drawing is very interesting. It's interesting because I don't know what the heck is going on. Those circles, are they planets? And the numbers, is it 115 or 15? And what do they symbolize? I like the drawing, but I'll have to ask you the next time I see you, exactly what it means.
Posted 1 year ago by Michael

I love the colors in this picture. I'm not sure what it means but I like it.

I like this drawing because I knew exactly what it was immediately. I guess it was growing up a Catholic, but I knew it was the Eucharist. It's so good that I think it should be hung up in a Church. Nice job, it almost 3 dimensional.

Hello Ciaran —- I’ve heard that aspiring authors are urged to “write what you know”. Similarly, maybe young artists should start with “drawing what you know”. That’s what you’ve done here. You really do know a lot about tanks! One question: what was your thought process in matching a specific tank design type with a particular artistic style? For example, what qualities make one kind of tank a good choice for an “Impressionistic” drawing? Keep being creative! Love, G’pa
Posted 1 year ago by Grandpa Jim

Ciaran this is beautiful, I love it.
Posted 1 year ago by Grandma

When I first looked at the drawing, I thought that the lower tanks were drawn at a younger age and the ones on top were currently drawn. But with a closer look, I realized that they were different types of art, from minimalism to realism. Very impressive. Next step is to cut your ear off. Just kidding. Great job.
Posted 1 year ago by Michael

I really like your picture. So many different types of tanks. Good work

Hi CIaran. Wow! I love this artwork. It’s just out of this world!!!

Once again, nice work. One question though, why are you laying on a checkerboard? I guess you were tired. Love you.
Posted 2 years ago by Michael

Love it! Although you are much cuter than your representation….it looks great!
Posted 2 years ago by Love, Aunt Chelle

Wow, a self-portrait. It looks like you're laying on a checker board. Nice job.

Ciaran!! This is so good! I love this!

Hello Ciaran — This is a really interesting drawing and perspective. But I wonder if that plane is flying a little too low. Or, maybe it’s your intent to show the daring of the pilot to fly between buildings, perhaps implying that to lead a meaningful life, sometimes you’ve just got to take a risk. However, to be clear, I wouldn’t recommend flying a plane through a city! Love, G’pa
Posted 2 years ago by Grandpa Jim

Dude, this one is awesome! Am I crazy or is that a P-51???

This is very interesting. I like your color choices.

This looks pretty cool! Great job as always Ciaran!
Posted 2 years ago by Aunt Chelle

Wow, so many different thoughts about this drawing. Is the person on the ground just reaching up to get a ride? Or is the white bird actually a dove symbolizing peace and the person is reaching to hopefully grab peace for the world. Great drawing, it makes people think. Good job.

Love your picture. Hope you
Posted 3 years ago by Great picture. Love the blue sky. Hope your fly

Love this! Love your Dove!

This looks like an astronaut looking out the window of his capsule. Is that correct? I think he's trying to get out.

This picture is very interesting. I love the angle and colors. Great job!

Hello Ciaran --- I note that your newest art work doesn't have a title. May I suggest "A Tree of Many Colors"? Very refreshing compared to our real trees, which have basically no color during the Winter. I also like your detail in the many-colored shadow of the tree. Well done! Keep imagining. "Things don't always have to be the way they are". Love, G'pa

I liked your stain glass pictures. The colors are so vibrant! Your quite the artist.

Hey Kiddo, I love this drawing. I feel like I'm looking through a kaleidoscope. I love the colors and the symmetry. Nice work. Love you.

Hello Ciaran --- Glad you're back in Artsonia (that's near Brazil, right?). I like your design. It's both intriguing and colorful, a hard to achieve combination. Here's a question: Did you use algebraic or geometric logic in creating your art work? Biographers will want to know! Love, G'pa
Posted 4 years ago by Grandpa Jim

I really like this! You are a very good artist Ciaran! Love you lots!!!
Posted 4 years ago by Aunt Chelle

I love your latest artwork. The colors and symmetry are perfect. Love you too.

Hey Ciaran, I saw your latest picture and I thought it was very creative. I like how you combined your love of WWll history with the dogs. Good job! I love and miss you.
Posted 4 years ago by Grandma

Hello Ciaran --- Well, your latest art work is certainly interesting! It reminds me of many of the surrealistic paintings I've seen at the Art Institute in Chicago. After viewing, I would often think:"What the heck is the artist trying to 'say' here"? Let me ask you the same question. Is your theme "Dogs of War", showing the awfulness of war, but with actual dogs? That's what occurs to me. In any case -- stay creative! Love, G'pa
Posted 4 years ago by Grandpa Jim

I loves this Ciaran!! Such a great job!
Posted 4 years ago by Aunt Chelle

Hey Ciaran, just saw your latest work. Looks good. I like the way you incorporated the dogs with your drawing, just like the artist did. Silly me, I just thought he opened a supermarket. Just kidding. Love you.

Hello Ciaran --- At first, I had as little trouble "interpreting" your newest art work. But then I realized you were depicting a car. Am I right about that? One point, if it's my car/van you were drawing, you'd need to show the various "dings" my van has experienced over the last four years (many and varied). Again, if it's my van, how did you get the Christmas tree through the roof? Love, G'pa P.S. I liked the Peace! sign on the rear license plate. Good touch!
Posted 5 years ago by Grandpa Jim

Wow Ciaran, I love the car! And I love your taste in cars too, Mercedes :)

I love this picture. Looks like everyone is having a good time except maybe the guy on the roof! Great holiday picture.

Hello Ciaran --- I like this art work. Very creative, colorful and kind of mysterious. Just like one of Mr. Picasso's paintings! Some questions: Is this painting representing an abstract "thing"? If "yes", what is it? If "no", what school of art have you now transitioned to? Whatever answers, my "sophisticated" opinion of the work is -- I really like it! Love, G'pa

I love this. Your colors are striking. Great job.

Hello Ciaran --- Very sophisticated work here guy. What's your "theme"?; i.e., what are you trying to get across to the viewer. Personally, I don't think that Kandinsky really cared (but, that's just me). Of course, you care, right? And, did you know that Kandinsky was a part of the Blue Rider movement (i.e., German Expressionism -- not sure what that actually means!). Another member of that movement was Albert Bloch, who actually taught for awhile at KU. And, many of his works have been collected at a museum in Louisberg (sp?) KS. Have to go their sometime! Love, G'pa

Hello Ciaran --- Greetings from Lawrence! You know, Kansas is known as the Sunflower State, so I should know a lot about sunflowers (but I don't). Your art work represents a small detail of a sunflower, right? Looks good. Lots of color! Keep up the good work. Love, G'pa

Hello Ciaran129 --- Just asking, but is Ciaran129 how you sign your art work? Also, is there a Ciaran128 or 130? Wrto today's art work -- very intriguing! What Paul Klee paintings did you look at? You know, when we go to Chicago, we can see several Paul Klee paintings displayed at the Art Institute. Now, of course you are in charge of naming your work, but can I suggest a new name? How about "Tilted City with Tree"? Another question: Is that the the Mississippi River shoreline in the background? Summary comment: Another great job!!!

Hello Ciaran --- This art work shows your maturity in painting as a now 8-year-old. I think it's your best painting yet. It reminds me of the bridge and pond in the garden at Monet's house in Giverny, France, that your Mom and I visited almost 25 years ago. Just FYI, a Monet painting of a haystack just sold for more than $100 million!!! So, hold on to this painting! Love, G'pa -- James

Hello Ciaran --- This is one of your best artistic creations! It shows an accurate portrait of what it's like in SLP/Minnesota these days. Four snow storm s in the last two weeks! And, two more are coming tonight and Thursday. How about doing a drawing of Spring-time? [With no snow!!!]. Love, G'pa -- James

Hello Ciaran --- I like your snowman art. It's especially appropriate for today; i.e., lots of snow! The snowman is a bit mysterious. For example -- where's the rest of him? Also, how is it that he's so much bigger than the buildings in the right-hand corner of the sketch? Is he like the giant marshmallow from "Ghostbusters"? I'm anxiously awaiting your explanations. Love, G'pa -- G'pa

That is a very nice Snowman! Great job Ciaran! -- Aunt Chelle

Nice nutcracker! I also love the glitter....you can never have too much glitter!!! -- Aunt Chelle

Love your Nutcracker. Grandpa and I are going to get an ornament for our tree. -- Grandma

Okay, this one puzzles me! If this is a rocket launch area, the rockets are way too close. (Only one successful rocket launch could be made, because the other rockets -- filled with fuel -- would blow up. Again, perhaps you have wandered into Neo-realistic Expressionism. Please enlighten me! -- G'pa
Posted 7 years ago

So, Ciaran, this looks to me like a Surrealistic rendering of the Prince from the Nutcracker. Or, maybe it's depicting part of Clara's dream of the Nutcracker coming to life as a Prince. On the other hand, perhaps I should just ask you what your artistic intent was. -- G'pa
Posted 7 years ago

Once again Ciaran, you've done a great job. I can almost smell the vegetables. I can't wait to see all you guys in a few weeks. I love you kiddo. -- Mike
Posted 7 years ago

Hello Ciaran --- Almost T-Day greetings from Lawrence. I really like your very colorful leaf painting. Sadly, the leaves in my yard are now just kind of a drab brown. I don't think I'd like a drab brown painting very much, but who knows? Anyway, I'm glad you choose vivid color. Plus, your composition is also very well done. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and be sure to remember what you're thankful about. Love, G'pa -- Dr. Jimmy
