Leo, Your artwork is wonderful, but so is your goal. Your great grandmother said to never give up and I am so proud that you feel the same way. Love, Mimi

This is such a great goal for this year, and I love your attitude! Some people would quit in the face of disappointment, but I'm really proud of you for being "All in" and following through on your dreams. Plus, I think you sound great!

Both cool...but, I think I prefer the happier looking one in front. Important lesson: There are always choices.

Hi, Leo. Gotta say this one is very cool. I like the mismatched, misshapen eyes, the stitched smile, the scarf... And, is that a drooping arm and hand on the right?

Hi Leo, I really liked the shading and the blending of the colors together. Some of the droplets even look shiny. Love, Mimi

Hi Leo, I like the expression on the fox's face. It looks like the fox has perhaps found something it wants for dinner. I also like the background and the shading. Mimi

Hi Leo...I really like your artwork of the fox. It's very realistic. Great work. I ordered a ceramic tile picture of it since it's excellent. LAKABAG

Once, again, I'm drawn by the colors and the suggestion that this picture is telling a story which I'd like to know more about.

Gotta say I like artwork which suggests a story as I look at it and I wonder what is happening in the story. (I hope you have a story to share about this piece the next time we talk.)

Hi Leo, Loved how you used watercolors to create a shading effect in the sky while keeping the rest of your piece black and white. Mimi

Sometimes, there's something in particular I want to capture. Other times, I just feel like filling up the paper. The important part is that whatever you do should make you happy.

A reminder that I had wanted to discuss your artwork with you and forgot! With this one, for example, I'd want to know if the teacher suggested a topic, what your character might crush - and why, and something more about your character's facial expression. We can email, skype, or you remember to bring it up the next time we're together.

It must have been a while since I read the "Train the Brain" concept. I saw the title and had to compliment you, Leo, that you're training your brain with peaceful pictures of palm trees. Maybe, somewhere in South America? But, having read the explanation, again, I'm happy you're training your brain THIS way, too. AND, you've got Mom to help you explore and develop that art talent, if and/or when you want. -- Joel

How did you make the duck? And why spikes?!?! It must be one tough duck. -- Mom

Hi, Leo. I'm commenting on this piece only because I thought it was your most recent. I just want you to know that I always check out all your stuff. It's just that I would rather talk about it when we're together; I'd really like to hear what you have to say. Your memory probably being better than mine, please, remind me when we're together if I forget to bring it up. -- Grandpa Toys
