I like the paper mosaic that you recently designed in art class. The colors that you chose and their placement is perfect. Maybe I’ll use it for new notecards.

This is oh so clever of you.

Love your design in relief! You did such a precise job of folding each piece. The end result reminds me of a stained glass window in 3-D. XO,Mimi

I’m impressed by how professional your art is.

Making an op-art piece is challenging but you did a great job. I especially like the addition of the black squares. It’s even more interesting! Mimi

Lovely crayon rubbing of a still-life. Did you make up the still-life in your head or did the art teacher arrange one for the class? Mimi

Love how you used rubbings for texture in this winter scene.
- Lauri on May 3, 2022

What a surprise when I enlarged your fish print! You made different textures on paper and then cut fish scales out of them to create your fish. The cut paper additions really add to the special details along with the stencil prints in the background. I know that Oompah wishes he was catching some of these on his fishing trip this week. xo, Mimi

I've got a title for this piece..."Bugs on Baseball" Great work in all the detailed drawing. Mimi

I can't wait to show this fish to Oompah. What a great fish sculpture! I'm sure that I have seen one that looks just like this while snorkeling in the Caribbean. xo, Mimi

I see that you put your artwork in a "snowglobe". Did you know that aunt Ginny has a huge collection of them?
- Lauri on May 3, 2022

This is so festive. I especially like the pattern the poinsettias make.

I like the tie especially. This is so cute.

Ezra- Is that supposed to be an older you or Oompah? Ha, Ha! love, Mimi

Ezra- The pumpkin patch that you created is beautiful! I love how you tucked some pumpkins behind others. Was this a pastel drawing?xo, Mimi

Looks like you're scared out of your mind! Those different lines must be brain waves. Who's the rabbit? Mimi

Aren't texture rubbings fun to make? I love how you put one of the mice on the elephant's nose!

Aren't rubbings fun to make? One question...why is one of your eyes open?

Ezra- I'm so glad that you are learning about tints in colors. Have you also learned about "values" of colors? When I was in college, taking one of my art ed classes, we had to do a project that had 50 tints and 50 values of a color! It's a good way to learn about color. Thanks for sharing. Mimi

Ezra- I always love to use more than one medium for pictures. It makes them even more interesting. It looks like you stenciled the snowman shape and then added "accessories" for a collage look. So cute!

I wrote a comment but it must be in the cloud somewhere. I love the perspective from which you drew your face. Is it a chalk drawing?
- Lauri on January 1, 2020

WOW! I love the colors and arrangement that you chose. It looks like you first created a leaf shape, cut it out on folded paper, printed it in different colors, then accented it with black lines. Am I right?

I can't wait to show your drawing/painting to Izzy. She is crazy about cats! I love how you detailed your cat with different lines and colors. It's almost like a "quilted cat". xo, Mimi

Love the book, RAINBOW FISH! i used to do a project with my students using white glue and thick watercolors. After it dried, we would gently wash over it andthe glue would leave white lines. Maybe we can try it when we come for Easter. Mimi

You used two mediums to make this quilt square- collage and drawing. I'm assuming that the figure is a picture of you. What is the SF on your shirt for?

Ezra, I like how you used strips of paper to weave a pattern then masked it with a heart shape cover to reveal only parts of it. I'm proud of your hard work.

Ezra- I loved your illustration of the book, MOUSE PAINT! I can find the mice that mixed their colors to make orange green, and purple. They look like fat, happy mice. I used to read that same book to my students when they were learning to mix colors. So fun!

You did a great job of using different lines to make this rainbow painting. I love how colorful it is. When I come to visit, we will use SCISSORS to make different lines and a special way to use color too. Can't wait!

Ezra- I'm so glad that you're learning the wonderful, creative ways to use paper. The bending, creasing and pleating helped to make a sculpture with lots of shape. I hope that you had fun making it.
