This reminds me of the Aboriginal art we saw in Australia. They use rows of dots to decorate their work, particularly paintings of animals. Maybe you were inspired because you are half Australian!

Great work, Gavin! Portraits are hard, and you got it just right. It really looks just like you. You have a knack for drawing. I'm going to an art retreat next week and will be taking a portrait sketching class. I hope mine is as good as yours.
