My immediate impression was very favorable. The lines are perfectly straight; the shapes are realistic and proportional; the colors are harmonious and graded in tone and intensity. The dark background effectively highlights the colors. If I hadn't been tipped off as to the creator of this sparkling composition, I would have guessed that it was done by a professional color-artist. It's an A-plus.

This is another of Ellie's creations that "work" by suggesting, instead of flat-out stating, a figure or statement. In that regard, it is similar to the "IDEA" that is present in the other two figures about which I made comments. Like them, it poses an antagonism (different objects constitute parts of the OBJECT {her name} that is globally presented. Very idea-based. I assume that the statement at the bottom pursues the same "contrariness," but I don't know what Fortnite is.

This is interesting as a piece that succeeds in suggesting that it is a standing human figure: the two "legs" at the bottom, the two oval, dark grey blobs about the middle (suggesting hands almost folded, resting on the middle of "the torso), and the horizontal stripe suggesting a hat band... induce the viewer to see a multicolored standing human. Quite interesting, given that the multiple colors run contrary to the perception of a unitary human figure. Clever, though the hodge-podge of colors is not visually satisfying: seeing a human figure leads to an expectation of some homogeneity.... which the picture intentionally omits. Nonetheless, suggestively creative.

The sharpness of the boundary separating the "foreground figure" from the hazy background of lighter colors lacking in sharply outllined edges...... which is appropriate in creating an impression of depth: that is, the blue-and-white figure is resting upon the background surface. Very effective.

This solid construction is comical, engaging, and the colors are appealing, eye-catching ----- though the eye wants to see colors on the little creature that differ from the background, so as the enhance the difference between the creature and the background "shell." Otherwise, eye-catching.

Your dream catcher is beautiful. I love the detail you put into it. I hope it catches our dreams and makes them become reality! -- Aunt Sher

This piece by Ellis706 has several noteworthy features: (1) It is organized in a very straightforward, visually effective way as a dark cross (blue/white) intersecting at the center of a cross of less saturated colors (yellow and gray). (2) The nonlinear shapes keep the regularity from being tiring/boring; the bright blue and white provides strong contrast, in colors that are calming. (3) The two crosses bring together the essential oppositional aspect of the painting, unifying the components in a figure that suggests movement. Very appealing and complex use of shape and color. -- Papa
