Cool horse. I like the brightness of the horse's mane. Keep it up.

Love the red mane and tail. Great face also. Love you!

Nui! Your newest piece led me to doing a little reading about Leonardo da Vinci and looking at some of his most famous paintings. My favorite is The Last Supper. I noticed that in this work of art, he shows almost all of the apostles' hands. I wondered if that was a small part of the inspiration for the piece that you created. The hand on the left of your drawing is extremely well done. You have made the fingers look relaxed and layered over one another. Excellent work! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on April 10, 2024
I recognized your painting right away. A very famous painting and you did a great job. Keep up the great work.
- Grandma/grandpa Maureen on April 10, 2024
Interesting piece of art. An interesting interpretation. Keep up the great work.
- Mommy (Mother) on March 9, 2024

Nui! This is such an interesting piece of art! I love the dramatic, colorful background swirls. The jazz musician looks like some type of overlay on the background! Your background looks like it represents the sound of the jazz music! I am wondering who the musician is? I imagine it could be the famous Louie Armstrong, the jazz trumpeter of the early 1900's. your work always makes me think about things and research to find out more!!! Aunt Claudia

Nui, this is amazing!!!! The Statue of Liberty, The Proclamation, and your penmanship are all just wonderful. Great choice of colors.
- Auntie Nikki on September 28, 2023

Nui, Auntie is smiling ear to ear! The contrast between the background and the musician is so COOL!!! You just keep getting better with each art project.
- Auntie Nikki on September 28, 2023
Nui: You colored in the musician like a pro. Nice job once again with all the color you added. I do think you should get a hat like your sax player has - it would look very cool on you. Great art!!
- Aunt Dorothy on September 27, 2023
WOW! You are such a wonderful artist. I can feel the music through your art. Superb job!
- Mommy (Mother) on September 27, 2023

Nui you are a very good artist. I especially love that your artwork is always so colorful. Thank you for sending this to me. Love you
- Aunt Dorothy on September 27, 2023
Nui! This is such an interesting piece! I recognized Lady Liberty right away! Once again your picture is very familiar because our 2nd graders learn about important symbols of America and the Statue of Liberty is one of their favorite. We also learn a little bit about Ellis Island and immigration. I am interested in the writing on your artwork and what you are quoting. Isn't it amazing that it took 9 years to build the statue in France and then they took it apart and sent it to us! I went on a trip to New York City with 3 friends several years ago and saw this beautiful symbol of our country. It brought tears to my eyes and made me so proud to be an American. This is an amazing piece of artwork!
- Aunt Claudia on September 27, 2023

Nui! Your Alpine Forget Me Not is beautiful! I am interested in knowing how you created it and what materials you used. I am also wondering if you are doing a state report on Alaska. Our 4th graders do a state report every year! Dis you know that this petite flower can also be pink and white? National Forget Me Not Day is November 10th each year. It is a day for remembering those you love. Alaska named this flower as their state flower in 1959 when Alaska became the 49th state. Grandpa Ed was only 10 years old!!!! These flowers make me smile! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on May 24, 2023
I love the blue bell flower you did , it reminds me of Alaska where Grandpa and I lived for a while. I really like the texture of the flowers. So glad you picked the Alaska flower.
- Grandma/grandpa Maureen on May 24, 2023
Wow!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!. I love the Alaskan Forget-Me-Nots yoy created for your state project. The picture pops and comes alive. Keep up the wonderful work. Love you.

Nui! Another creative piece to add to your collection! You used cardboard in such an interesting way. Your jelly fish shape is outlined in red yarn and I really like how you brought out the texture of the cardboard by painting the greens/blues. The gold pieces also highlight your character and give the idea of a collage! Your artwork is always neatly done and colorful! Nice Work...as always!
- Aunt Claudia on April 18, 2023

Nui! you never cease to amaze me with your artwork! I love the way you chose to add what I think is yarn in the center of the seahorse to give it a different look. And even better, you made it so that it can be hung to display it anywhere. No wonder you won so many awards at the art show! Seahorses are such interesting creatures! I had not remembered that they have an exoskeleton covered by thin skin. They also change colors to camouflage themselves! How exciting it would be to actually see one in the ocean! Bravo! Great Work!
- Aunt Claudia on April 18, 2023

What an interesting art piece! The red outlined image looks like the human ??. Keep up the creativity! Love you!

Great butterfly, great design! Proud of you! Keep it up. Love Grandma & Grandpa
- Grandpa on February 16, 2023
Nui! This butterfly is beautiful! You included so many details. I am wondering if the two below him show him coming out of his chrysalis as he goes through his life cycle. Henri Charriere was a prisoner on Devil's Island who escaped in 1941. He was nicknamed "Papillion", which means butterfly. I also saw the movie of his life with Steve McQueen, many years ago. Outstanding work...as always! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on January 15, 2023

OH MY!!!! These butterflies are beautiful! Way to go Buddy! Keep up the great work!

NUI! What an interesting use of different types of materials to create your gourd. Different materials help to bring your drawing to life! I love to find different types of gourds for a bowl that I have in my dining room. They come is so many sizes and shapes. They are one of the oldest plants on earth. Thousands of years ago they were cleaned out and used for water bottles and dippers. I have a bottle gourd that was made into a bird house that I hang in my tree each spring. The birds really seem to like it! I chooses smaller gourds for decorations. Thank you for sharing such a creative picture! Aunt Claudia

This is fantastic!! I totally agree with Aunt Claudia, Aunt Dorothy and Mommy. You really mastered the shading on these pumpkins! Grandma and I are just so proud of you and your artistic talent. Keep it up!!

Nui, these pumpkins are great. I like the black background it really shows up the pumpkins. Excellent shading. Nice job.
- Aunt Dorothy on October 12, 2022
Nui! Once again you have used the value drawing technique to create a beautiful picture. I really like the black background that you used to bring out the different shapes of gray! Very nice! It was a great choice for this time of the year. There are pumpkins everywhere!!! Aunt Claudia

Great job!! You continue to be a fantastic artist. We know Aunt Claudia will be excited to see this artwork. Keep up the good work, we are proud of you!
- Grandma/grandpa on September 26, 2022
Nui! This collage is a great follow up to your last piece of work! You used many snippets of interesting materials to create this new image. Our art teacher works with collages when she does her unit on Picasso with the 4th and 5th graders. She hangs them in the halls and they are so much fun to look at and appreciate the hard work that goes into choosing the right materials and putting them together in an interesting way! Great work! Your portfolio is growing and growing! Aunt Claudia

What a wonderful piece of artwork! I love the shine in this picture. Keep up the great work!
- Mommy on September 23, 2022

Nui, This value drawing is very interesting! You have used many shades of gray to create light, shade and contrast in your picture. Hammers are very old tools that began simply as rocks tied to a stick with a leather strip. Basic hammers were originally made with no handles and were first discovered over 3 million years ago! Today there are 32 different types of hammers. My favorite hammer is Thor's hammer which is made out of Uru, a metal found on Asgard!!! This is a very accurate drawing of the hammers that we use today! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on September 23, 2022
Nui: You did a great job drawing this hammer. It has great detail and looks like you took a lot of time working on it. Very nice job.
- Aunt Dorothy on September 23, 2022
A claw hammer! Nicely done. Are you going to help your Dad around the house when he needs a carpenter? Great work...keep it up!

This artwork makes me feel happy looking at it with the beautiful use of yellows, oranges and reds. The blue/green tree really pops. Nice work! Love you.

Nui! This stained class tree is absolutely beautiful! Stained glass windows are my favorite! I can only imagine the amount of time it would take to make a colorful window using stained glass. I am sure that your picture also took a lot of your time! You have created so many individual sections and blended the colors with in each one so smoothly! I also love the colors that you have chosen, This piece was carefully planned and created by a talented artist...You! Excellent work!
- Aunt Claudia on January 27, 2022

Nui! I love this beautiful scene . You really brought this piece to life by using different shades in each layer as you move from front to back. I also like the way you have created the look of a snowy day. It reminds me of the book "The Mitten" when the animals first begin to find and crawl into the mitten on a cold snowy day! I love snowy days!!! This is beautiful! Aunt Claudia

Wow...Wow...Wow...I love this ship. I feel that the black background gives it a spooky feel and it kind of looks like the Mayflower ship that you created in history class. Way to go. Keep it up.
- Mommy (Mother) on October 27, 2021
Wow! What a great picture for Halloween of a ghost pirate ship. BOOOO!! Love you nephew!
- Aunty Tecky on October 27, 2021
Nui! This is a very accurate picture of the Susan Constant, a Tall Ship of America! It is a wooden ship that brought the first American colonists to Virginia in 1607! You have captured it beautifully! It is a merchant ship that also has a cannon that was used to protect the crew from pirates back in the 1600's. The ship that I read about was built right on the museum grounds at the Jamestown Settlement in Virginia. I also saw several videos about the ship being built and that people actually sail on this ship to other ports to participate in celebrations. Volunteers who are 18 years or older are trained how to sail the ship!!! Wow! That would be so exciting! You always create an interesting masterpiece!!
- Aunt Claudia on October 27, 2021
Really great job Nui. Looks like a storm at sea, excellent work.
- Aunt Dorothy on October 27, 2021
Wow this is a great painting of this historic ship. I had to look it up and read about its history with the founding of Jamestown. We really enjoy your artwork. Love you! Grandma & Grandpa

We really like the eyes on your tiger and the dark stripes really stand out. Your artwork is always enjoyed by us. Grandma and Grandpa
- Grandma/grandpa on September 22, 2021
WOW!! Super cool tiger. Good job nephew.. Love you!
- Aunty Teck on September 22, 2021
Nui! This wild animal looks as though it comes from my favorite animal family...the "Big Cats"...perhaps a tiger? I love the Belgian tiger! It is our school mascot. We are the Akron Tigers and our colors are orange and black! It is not easy to draw an animal face looking forward, but you did very well and included all of the important details. The leaves in the background may also show the habitat this animal lives in. There are so many wild animals that are becoming endangered...We must take care of them!!!! Nice Work! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on September 22, 2021
What an interesting tiger! His stripes and eyes are captivating. Great job! Keep up the good work.

Nui! What a perfect time of the year to create such a beautiful flower! I love the bright colors of tissue paper that you used! I am wondering if you used a real flower as a model? This looks like it could be a Golden Glow Peony. I can picture a tall vase full of these brightly colored blossoms! Magnificent! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on May 26, 2021
This is so pretty. I'm starting to look for flowers for my garden and I wish I had some of these to plant!!! Great job, love it.

Buddy, I always love sewing all the great art you make. I love the colors and the patterns and how creative you are. This art is awesome!
- Daddy on April 28, 2021
Nui! Your weaving is absolutely beautiful. Your horizontal lines are even and quite straight. You have chosen such calm and relaxing colors that compliment each other. The turquoise, blue indigo and violet are all from the color family (hue) purple. I am sure you know that you have chosen colors from the primary group (blue) and the secondary group (purple).. Your weaving is very detailed. I would guess that it took quite some time to complete this masterpiece! Excellent work! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on April 28, 2021
I absolutely LOVE the color choices you made to create your art. Looking at it makes me drift to another dimension. Nice job Buddy!
- Mommy (Mother) on April 23, 2021

Nui! I love this desert landscape! The desert is very interesting and beautiful. I think you made a good choice using pieces of torn cardboard to represent the butte rock formations. They look so much like pictures our Social Studies book has about the desert landscape in Utah. You also included the 3 main colors of the desert sky as they reflect off the mountains. This collage is very interesting. It made me want to research the land forms and where this type of desert is found in our country! You brought it to life for me! Another great piece!
- Aunt Claudia on February 17, 2021
Super cool art! Love the pastel sky. So happy to see your work online again. Keep up the great work! Love you.
- Mommy (Mother) on February 13, 2021

Nui! Another interesting piece of your collection for me to research. You always are working on something interesting. This piece was a challenge, but I did find out some very interesting facts. Did you know that the cow skull symbolizes courage and gratitude for all of the gifts we get from a cow. In some countries the cow is a sacred animal. To have a cow skull is said to be tribute to a much appreciated animal...the cow. I also read that Christopher Columbus brought the first cows to the New World. A cow skull in your home brings "protection from harm". In many countries cow skulls are used as decorations! Very interesting! Great Job! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on November 11, 2020
Pretty flashy, most cow skulls I've seen are all white so this one really stands out! Grandma and I are so impressed with your talent! Keep it up!!
- Grandma/grandpa on November 11, 2020
How cool! The neon colors are so vibrant. Awesome job my love! Keep up the good work!
- Mommy (Mother) on November 3, 2020

Nui! I love the research that your pictures always encourage me to do! This is the pyrrhuloxia. It is pronounced peer - uh - lox - ee - a. It is also called the desert cardinal. It is a beautiful gray and scarlet red color. Its brilliant colors are easily seen in the desert. I love that you used corrugated paper as part of your desert scenery. I am very glad to see your artwork again!! Very impressive!
- Aunt Claudia on October 14, 2020
Hi Nui: I really like the textures you put in this piece. Nice colors and the background tan material is really cool. Keep up the creative work. Aunt Dorothy

This bird looks so majestic! I love it! Keep up the great work! Love you!
- Mommy (Mother) on October 2, 2020

Nui! Another interesting piece for your collection! I love the white sand that you used. Many sea turtles do live on beaches of a lighter colored sand. Of course, I had to do some more research... I discovered that sea turtles have lived on earth for more that 220 million years! They lived during the days of the dinosaurs and actually survived the dinosaurs! That is not surprising because I also read that many sea turtles live to be more than 100 years old! I liked that way that you showed the different parts of the turtles body. This type of turtle is covered with protective "scutes" or plates. I would love to see a turtle that shows the fluorescent pink and turquoise that you used! Beautiful...but not very good camouflage for them! Another masterpiece!!! Amazing!
- Aunt Claudia on April 30, 2020
I LOVE this! You have done such a wonderful job capturing the Honu's spirit. Beautiful! Our aumakua shines bright in your art. Love you! Mommy

These turtles are terrific! I really like that you had one swimming off of the page. Great work Nui. XOX Aunt Dorothy
- Aunt Dorothy on January 22, 2020
Nui! I am thinking that these are green sea turtles! They are one of my favorite reptiles! I have learned so many things about sea turtles because my 2nd graders used to study them in science! Sea turtles live in oceans all over the world. There are 7 different kinds of sea turtles. I love the pattern that you drew on your turtles' shells! The sad part is that many sea turtles are now endangered. They are such smooth and graceful swimmers...We need to protect them! Your picture looks like you printed them so that they all looked alike! Very interesting! I also llike the water's current that I can see under the turtles! Another masterpiece!!!
- Aunt Claudia on January 22, 2020
What a great artist you are! I'm very proud of this work and look forward to seeing more! Grandpa

- Aunt Dorothy on November 27, 2019
Nui! Ah! A right whale. I recognized it right away. My second graders would learn about many kinds of whales before we went to the aquarium. We learned that the right whale was called that because it was the "right" whale to hunt. It had lots of oil and blubber which was very valuable. It was easy to hunt because it swims very slowly and swims close to shore. Did you know that it is endangered? There are only about 400 right whales left on earth! I always love the way you blend your colors so that they are not one solid color! Nice work! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on November 27, 2019
Oh my goodness! This is such a great whale your colors and his eye looks like he is looking at me. You are a amazing. Love you so much. Grandma and Grandpa.

Nui, I knew what this was right away, it is super work. You may have even topped the palm trees!!!
- Aunt Dorothy on November 20, 2019
Nui! Interesting jellyfish! I like the blending of the colors and the extra texture that you gave the bodies. It gave the bodies the pinkish color that many jellyfish have. Of course, I had to research this interesting animal...Did you know that jellyfish lived in the ocean over 500 million years ago...even before the dinosaurs lived on earth! I also learned that they have no brain, no heart and no eyes! This one looks like a"pink meanie". The tentacles look exactly like they should! They are a good follow up to the tropical ocean picture that you completed recently!!! Outstanding!!!
- Aunt Claudia on November 20, 2019
I really like the jellyfish and seaweed. You do so well with your colors and the sizes of the jellyfish. Great job.?? Grandma

The palms are really wonderful. And as always your colors are unexpected which makes them very creative. Really love the palm franz. Keep drawing.
- Aunt Dorothy on October 30, 2019
Nui! What a magical setting you have created. I am wondering if you are imagining the beautiful Hawaiian Islands that you have visited! Your combination of colors is so peaceful and calm. The contrast of the dark palm trees helps me see them as shadows just as the sun goes down! I would love to see a sunset like this every night before I fell asleep. It makes me think of warm sand and a soft breeze blowing in the trees. Congratulations on another outstanding piece to add to your gallery! Aunt Claudia

Nui! Oh! This one is so interesting! It looks the the Blue Crab that lives in the Atlantic Ocean! They are best know for their blue arms and claws. They are smaller, only the size of a tea cup. I also found that they are omnivores...marine animals that eat both plants and meat. I like the contrast of the sand under your crab. It makes him stand out so much better. Nui! I always learn something from your art work. What an amazing collection you are creating! Aunt Claudia
- Aunt Claudia on October 16, 2019

Nui! What an interesting print! I would love to know how it was done! You have included many details on the butterfly's wings. I discovered that many butterflies have exactly the same design on the wings that match. The wings are symmetrical (look the same). I also read that there are 20,000 different kinds of butterflies in the world. I also noticed that you drew 3 body parts and the antennae. I always enjoy researching your pictures! I am sure you know a lot more about butterflies after this project! Nice Work!

Nui! What an amazing self portrait! That mischievous, beautiful smile was my clue that it was you! Portraits are not easy to draw, but you did a great job detailing your hair and teeth. Your ears are well drawn and placed correctly! I like the shape of your head and the way you drew your hair from the top down in straight lines. Our 5th graders just completed self portraits for our spring art show. Yours could proudly hang with theirs! I love all of the details you include in your work! And as always, I like that you color your background to complete the picture! Great work! Aunt Claudia

Nui! What a beautiful ceramic sunflower! "Vincent" would have loved this piece. Sunflowers are such bright and cheerful flowers!` It is nice to see one of your ceramic pieces! I would use this to put my jewelry on when I take it off at night and then I wouldn't lose my bracelets or rings! Your gallery of artwork is quite impressive!

Nui! Vincent van Gogh would love to add your painting to the 12 sunflower paintings that he painted! Did you know that sunflowers are called that because the heads of nearly all sunflowers face east in the morning and follow the sun all day long and are facing west by the end of the day? They have a flexible (movable) stem that lets the flower bud move! Our art classes have also studied van Gogh and had a beautiful display of their work in our halls! I like the way you also fill n the background of you pictures! This picture reminds me of warm, sunny days! Aunt Claudia

Nui! A breathe of Spring! Just what we need in New York! I especially love the tulips! It looks like a forget-me-not in the bottom corner! These are all such beautiful, detailed spring flowers. Did you know that tulips grow from a bulb and not a seed. I have many planted near our house, but they are under the snow today! I am hoping that they do not start to pop out until the cold and snow are gone! Thank you for sending thoughts of spring to us!

Nui! This looks like the setting for a tea party on a quiet afternoon! I noticed the tea bag on the side of the cup. I wonder who you know that drinks hot tea. I usually drink iced tea, but I always put a slice of lemon in it. I love the "eat me" cupcake! It looks delicious. You included so many details in this picture...like the spoon in the sugar bowl. My favorite is the detailed turquoise teapot that is the centerpiece of the picture. Your art work always makes me smile!

Nui! We have a fox who lives somewhere near our house! We see him once in a while at night. I am always afraid that he will go into the road and get hurt. I love the way you accented the color of his fur by using 2 colors. His nose looks very realistic and I can see where the whiskers would be! The fox that we see also has big ears, just like yours. Did you know that they have excellent hearing? I have been showing your pictures to the art teacher at my school. She thinks that you are an amazing artist! I can't wait to show her this one! Aunt Claudia

Nui! This looks exactly like the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz!! What an amazing drawing! His face looks so life like with the cheek lines and the eyebrows! I know that it is very hard to draw a person's face and make it look life like! You have done an excellent job of bringing this character to life. I am going to show the art teacher at my school. She will be amazed!!!!!

Nui! This is a beautiful picture! The deer looks so much like the deer that we have living near our house. I love the way you drew the eye and the shading of the body is very realistic! We have deer like this that live in the park behind our house. They are fun to watch, but in the cold weather, they eat our bushes and low hanging trees. This picture may be my favorite so far!!!!!

Nui! This is a wonderful drawing of one of the big cats! I like the way you sketched it first and then retraced the lines in color. I always tell my class that drawing lightly first in pencil will give them the chance to make a correction before they color if they need to! I am wondering if you have a cat at home?
