The Christmas colors combine and compete and complement. It is the season of light and joy, all upon the evergreen background and the promise of new life!

This must be Frosty’s brother, because he looks alive, as well! The chilly winter winds are swirling all around, but the hat and matching scarf, along with the tightly fastened blue belly buttons, will keep him safe until spring. His lilting smile and, especially, that twinkle in his eyes, tell me he’s ready for a snowball fight. As Neil Young once wrote of Little Wing, “you know, some people say - the winter is the best time of them all - the winter is the best of all”. Me and the snowman, we agree!

Well, this old gobbler, with his head slightly lilting left, looks a bit concerned and unsure of what lies before him. But the bright plumage behind him speaks with confidence and courage. As do our friends and family, those feathers “have his back”, and will always be there for him, no matter what!

The eye of the harvest moon looks through the eye of the raven, silhouetted against the cold eye of the autumn sky. The rickety picket fence rattles in the wind, a little scary, a little scared. But the tree is solid, unmoved and standing alone for the raven’s claw, the fence’s nail and the moon’s light to find themselves. Breathe deep, it says, and hold on.

I immediately see the very elevated School Bus steps, obviously leading to higher education! I also notice all the girls and boys in the windows, each with different thoughts, but all bound for one place. The rear tires are in motion, grabbing traction and pushing toward a new, blue horizon. The front wheels are spinning steady and steering carefully on the grooved pavement. Its a new day, and everyone is on their way!

There’s just something curious about that Easter chick’s smile. I’m thinking he colored that shell himself after he was hatched! The grassy hiding spot just can’t quite cover that beautiful Easter egg, nor can the shell quite cover that growing Easter chick!

The snow is softly falling, each flake so unique, from a purple twilight sky that seems to hold the very spirit of Christmas! The red star stands out atop a tree that celebrates the season of gifts and giving. I find myself humming the melody of “Oh Christmas Tree” as I settle in for “a long winter’s nap”. Thanks, Jackson, for such a lovely piece!

The blue ice of a glacier, shown in three dimensions, is moving this peppy preschool penguin on his way. The light is reflecting in his smiling eyes, as he wonders “what is next?”. Well done, Jackson! Your art has inspired me to get out and enjoy a beautiful winter day!

The brilliant green and red says it all - it’s Christmastime and Santa Claus is coming to town! The negative space that is his beard leaves one to wonder what thought preceded the droll little smile peeking through. Thanks Jackson - your cool portrait of good ol’ Saint Nic really puts me in the Holiday spirit!

Rudolf is just taking off, hooves high in the air, leading all the other reindeer and Santa in his sled into the sky. The undulating aurora borealis, appearing tonight in a mystical green shroud, waves farewell from the North Pole, as a night of wonder begins. Great job, Jackson - Rudolf is indeed on his way!

Whoa! Snow! To and fro! Slip-sliding as I go! This snowman is is having fun, but is just about to lose his footing on this icy day. Is that the orange sun in the distance, reflecting the zig-zag patterns of the snowman's efforts to remain vertical? No worries, more snow is on the way!

This beautiful bird reminds me of Thanksgiving present and past. Mr. Turkey has really stuck his neck out to gobble his greeting - a dangerous maneuver this time of year - but I'm sure, with that colorful plumage, he is going to make it to Thanksgiving future!

I’m inviting this vampire in! This addition to your collection really “Counts”; you are “batting” 1,000! Vell done, Jaackzon!

Super job! The edge of the skin looks like someone just took a big bite - I'm going for a Red Delicious and imitate art!

Pumpkin rising! Like a phoenix, just beyond the green hillside, I love the way perspective makes the pumpkin seem bigger, and makes one wonder just how big it will be. There's more to the picture than meets the eye.

Love that bright yellow bus against the Eagle blue sky. I'm waving back to all the people on their way to something big! It's all about the wheels, and - man - they are rolling!

Beautiful work! It made me feel the first autumn winds blowing through the rustling leaves.
