Lily, I like this drawing a lot! I like to draw eyes myself in each of my pieces...it's a little bit trademark, but I diid do that for a whole semester in one of my college art classes. Also, there is a piece in there that looks like DNA!! That's what I work with every day! Did you mean to do that? Keep up the good work! See you soon when you come to Minnesota! Peace & Love, Megan

Lily, I'm wondering what you used to make the colors so vibrant and rich... it's beautiful! What did you use?? I love you, Lily! Have a great week! Margaret :-)

What great use of colors, Lily! This is an interesting design that catches your eye (oh! no! It really seems to have CAUGHT AN EYE!!) You must have great markers you are working with..... they are so bright and wonderful. I love you... Margaret

I missed seeing this picture earlier, Lily.... you are good at drawing faces! I like the clear lines you used to show the detail... I miss you!!! love, Margaret

Lily, Lily, Lily!! This drawing brought a tear to my eye. I think it shows how VERY important your religion and church is to you. I think your great-grandma Dahl would be so pleased. And I see some influence from your dad and Suzette in this one! You may even be an architect or a builder or a civil engineer some day. Your buildings and street are better than some REAL ones!! Keep these drawings coming. We all love to watch what you do. Love, G-Kay

Lily, you did a great job on this picture! When I was in college, taking an art class, I learned about "linear perspective" (changing the angles of the lines to show that the road is going away from you and looks smaller than when it's up close) and you did a great job showing linear perspective! Did you know what it was called when you drew it?? I LOVE your artwork... you use great colors, Lily! love, Margaret

Lily, I love this picture! Your artistic ability improves with each picture that I get to see. You are a great artist, keep it up! I'm happy that you did a self-portrait...even though I don't get to see you too often, I still get to see what a beatiful young lady you're growing into! Miss you and love you! Melissa

Oh my goodness, Lily!! If this is you, and I think it is, you are growing up way too fast. You look like a teenager! I recognize those nice pierced ears and those beautiful blue eyes, so I guess it really is you!! And where did your blond curls go?? I think I am seeing your mom in this picture!! Keep up the great art work. I love how crisp this one is. Love, G-ma Kay

You amaze me Lily! Your artwork brightens my day!!! Keep up the GREAT work. Love, Dixie

Hi Lily, I LOVE your drawings. I really like the blue guy and your self portrait best. The Blue guy reminds me of african art or outsider art. Your self portrait is the BEST! Love, Uncle Will

Lily, your artwork continues to be more and more exciting to watch! I love your use of color in this picture, and the lines outside the person's body, which look like the person is trying to say help really loudly. We sent you a valentine this week... I hope you get it and enjoy it! We love you..... Give your mom and dad hugs from us, will you? :-) Keep the artwork coming, kiddo! xoxox Margaret

When did you draw this self portrait Lily? It is fantastic! You have so much talent! Can we have this piece enlarged and framed for your new bedroom? I am very proud of you. Love, Suzette

I really can't pick a favorite-they are all GREAT. This one is special to me though. A friend gave me an angel like this and its name is COURAGE. I see that yours says HELP. No matter what it is called-it is AWESOME just like you. Love and hugs to both you and Mom. Dixie

I am amazed at the talent you possess. The hardest image to draw/paint is a self-portrait. You are a beautiful young lady and you have captured that beauty in your painting. Someday you will be a famous painter and I can say I knew you when you were in the 4th grade. Your mom's friend, Chris

Lily, I love this drawing. Who is it of? This person looks happy and excited to me. I think you are growing into a great artist. Keep it up! Thanks for sharing your art with me! Melissa

I do believe your artwork is becoming more abstract. I mean it is not trying to look exactly like a person or thing but an image of it, a version of it. I would like to hear the story behind this one and the last one that is just a brown face that looks like the features could be made out of neon glass tubing. Tell me what you were thinking when you did these drawings. Keep up the very good work! Drawing is such a very good hobby. Something you will enjoy your whole life!! Love, G-Kay

Lily, I am guessing that this is a 2006 version of your self-portrait. This girl certainly has your great wavely blond hair and bright smile. I think your Aunt Kathy would think you have great teeth. I like that the picture seems very cheerful and colorful too. Keep up the good work. Love, Grandma K.

Hi! Miss Lily!! (Many people here in Florida use the title Miss even if they are Mrs.) I love the new self portrait. Seems like you have a different hairstyle than last year's portrait. And your eyes are so BLUE!! Just right. Keep up the good work. This was written on my calendar for today, "When the artist is alive in any person, whatever his kind of work may be, he becomes an inventive, searching, daring, self-expressing creature. (Robert Henri) That's you!!! Love, G. Kay

Tell me about these, Lily... they look like they must be painted sticks, but I am not sure because the picture is kind of dark on my computer. Will you use them for something, or are they decorations?

Lily, this is a wonderful face you drew! I wish I had it on a greeting card to share with other people. You used some great colors, and I liked that your signature is in the corner. I didn't notice that on the first picture... it's a great touch for an artist! It looks like you really enjoy art... is that right?

Little Lily, I always enjoy your drawings. They are so colorful. I have several cardinals you have made for Grandpa and me. I love your "self portrait" from last year. And my Happy Birthday poster from your visit to Florida is still on my wall so I see it everyday. Keep making those great drawings so we all can enjoy them. I think you should make a really good one for Kevin and Michelle to celebrate their engagement. Michelle will be your new Aunt!! Love, Grandma Kay
