Your Uphues/Fernandez heart is so fun loving just like those of Uphues. I think the eyes make it look that way. The bold drippy background looks like that of Fernandez. What an adorable Valentine heart. Great job! Grandpa and & Grandma

I just learned that in German fairy tales gnomes were supposed to be old men who guarded buried treasure and minerals in the ground. Not many believed that but today they are supposed to bring good luck. I'm sure your black and white gnome will bring you or the fortunate person who has it lots of good luck! Very nice work, buddy! Love, Grandpa & Grandma

I find your paper sculpture quite interesting. I am wondering if it is the skill that leads to quilling? I have a really good friend who enjoys quilling. I see that you again use your favorite color, black! There is some Northwestern blue and some gray, I think. I like the variety of curves and folds and circles. You are extremely creative! Keep up the awesome work! Love, Grandpa and Grandma

Your Kudu-lah critters really don't look like scarey monsters! I read on-line that New York city artists created this type of art work. They really look pretty whimsical! I am wondering if they are in New York City or some other city? I'll ask you next time I see you! I do like the colors you used for the critters as you placed them in the real-time scenery! Keep up the fantastic work! Grandma and Grandpa O.

I'm sure the veterans who saw your Veteran's Flag were very proud of your creation. The patriotic symbols you chose to draw are very well done and make me proud to be an American!! Keep up your creative work! Proud of your creative ability!

Your "Collaborative Mural Cube" is quite interesting! I love the items that you put on the cube! The colors are quite interesting! Keep up the great artwork this year in school!

I absolutely love your grumpy monkey. I would say ornery, grumpy monkey. Great to see it at the Art Show last night. Daddy took a really great picture of you beside it. Keep up the great work. Love, Grandma & Grandpa

Your clay cupcake looks scrumptious enough to eat. You put more frosting on your cupcake than Miss Amy's Bakery. That's the best part! I especially like that maraschino cherry on top! Makes it look so authentic! I love your artistic creation.

Your Jen Aranyi artwork is interesting. I enjoyed reading about her. She mostly puts color in the sky. You'll have to tell your sister her favorite color is teal but does alot in black and white. I like your choice of red and yellow for the sky.

Your "Untitled" art work is really cool. I wonder how it was created. Did you create it on the computer or some other way? The design is really neat and I love the colors you used. Keep up the great work so that I can enjoy more and more!

First I had to look up the meaning of mindfulness to try to understand your artwork titled, Mindfulness Painting." I learned it means paying full attention to something. It means slowing down to really notice what you are doing. It's the opposite of rushing. I'm not sure I understand yet, but I do like the creativity I see in the movement and color. I like it for what it is! Keep being creative! Great job!

I just love your "Fall Leaves" artwork. The background color makes the beautiful leaves really stand out in your artwork! You sure captured the beautiful fall colors in your leaves. I have been enjoying the view from our west window of all the beautiful leaves on the trees. It is neat living right next to the woods to enjoy the colorful leaves. You've done an outstanding job on the colorful leaves in your project. They look so real! Proud of your very hard work. Love, Gma Orr

Your clay fish are adorable. Is that daddy and baby? I love the hat on the larger fish! Are their mouths open ready to be caught by a hook. Hope you can catch the largest fish at the campout just like you did last year! Always look forward to seeing your artwork on Artsonia. It's an awesome program. You are an awesome artist!

Wayne Thiebaud is quite an interesting artist of commonplace things, even ice cream and other delicious foods. You did a super job using his style to create a plate of ice cream with yummy toppings. I think that's a rainbow lollipop in the upper right corner. Looks delicious to me. Is that mint chocolate chip, chocolate and strawberry ice cream? What a delicious combination. Keep up the great work, we enjoy each piece of artwork you create! Love you, grandma and grandpa

Great art work on following the Cincinnati-based Modernist Artist Charlie Harper! You could find that raccoon anywhere around the country-side. Guess you've seen plenty that's why you were able to create such a great project! I see you followed the stylized technique of Harper. It would look greaton a canvas in our home. Great work. We love to see your creative work! Keep it up!

Abraham Lincoln has always been one of my favorite historical men. Your drawing makes him look very strong. You know he was 6' 4" tall. He looks like a big man in your drawing. I think you make him look very determined and honest. I enjoyed reading books about him when I was young. I liked learning he loved to read and probably only went to school a total of one year in his early schooling. You created a very good drawing of a famous man in the history of our USA! Great work! Love, Gma and Gpa

Your paper snowflake is eye-catching! I like the black, white and different shades of blue! I keep admiring your snowflake, but I'm not sure how you constructed it! I'll asked when I see you next! We have lots of snowflakes outside right now, but I love yours the best! Keep up the creative work. Love it! Grandma & Grandpa

Your iPad Snowflake is awesome. I find your intricate design very interesting. I like how the shade of color changes from the outside to the center of the snowflake. There never will be another like it because no two snowflakes are alike! Just like you are one of a kind! Keep up the great work! Love, Grandma & Grandpa

Let's see, I wonder if this project was called, "Wheels?" I see lots of wheels in this creative collage. Is that your Pinewood Derby car in the background with that business logo on it. I think I recognize that. Did you and daddy build that together for the derby? I like the Hot Wheels vehicle. Looks like it could move really fast. You created a collage with lots of different sizes and shapes. Good job, Buddy. Keep up the great work!

This is a very interesting snowman. I like how you have used items you have found to create a very interesting piece of artwork. I think the hat is especially interesting with the calculator and tennis ball. Perhaps, I cannot see those correctly, but I think that is what they are on your snowman's paper plate head! I see I am way behind in commenting on your artwork and this is from last December. We did have lots of snow last winter and enjoyed playing and sledding in it. Did you build a snowman that looked like this? Have fun in the snow!

This clay initial that you created is quite interesting. I see that you made your actual V initial in your favorite color of black! Is that brown design inside the V a football? Hmmm...you are a great football player so I wouldn't be surprised! Great work, buddy, keep it up! I'm very proud of your artwork!

Laurel Burch loved cat designs. I learned so much about Laurel when I researched her to understand your artwork. I understood that because of her disease Laurel could not be as active as other children. She loved petting and cuddling the cats in her lap! You captured the big heads, bright colors and wide open eyes that Laurel used in her cat designs. I can see that your cat's eyes are saying, "can I jump in your lap and purr for you?" Great work, I love it! Keep it up!

What interesting splatter painting. You can see how the colors created new colors when they ran into each other. Awesome! Keep up the great work! Love it...grandma and grandpa!

We really appreciate your James Rizzi art work. Your buildings are fun and happy with bright, bold colors! We like how the buildings overlap in your drawing. What interesting faces your buildings have! Their eyes really seem to be looking at something. Is it going to rain, we see some clouds! Love your artwork! Keep up the fantastic work! Love, Gpa and Gma

Your Mexican Tin mirror looks very authentic. I looked on the computer to find what the mirrors look like when made in Mexico. Yours could have come directly from Mexico with the designs and tin mirror in the center. I'm not sure how you made the center look like it does, but I really like it. Is the outside made of wood or some other metal? Keep up the great work! Grandma and Grandpa really appreciate your hard work in art!

Your snowflake landscape has very unique snowflakes. You do know that there are no two snowflakes alike. Yours are all uniquely different. What a cozy, little house beside the pond. I see that someone is ice skating on it. You are a pretty good ice skater. Have you ever skated on a pond or just inside on the ice skating rink? Those shades of blue make me feel very chilly. Maybe there is some hot chocolate inside the house waiting for the skater. Great work...keep it up! Love, Grandpa and Grandma

Your Found-Object snowman used lots of found objects very creatively. Markers, tiny cars, interestingly decorated balls and containers of paint are used effectively in your snowman. You have had lots of experience playing in the snow this winter. Sledding, playing in the igloo and snowball fights all are a part of winter fun! Keep up the creative work in art. You're quite good at it! Love, Grandpa and Grandma
- Susan on March 10, 2021

I'm sure that very loud sounds come from this enormous mouth that you have created. Those teeth are very interesting, too! One is very, very sharp. I'm sitting here at my computer trying to imagine all of the sounds that are coming from that interesting mouth. Could it sound like you or your sister? Hmmm! That could be quite loud. Grandpa and I love to see your interesting art work. Keep it up! Love, Grandpa and Grandma

Your clay caterpillar is quite colorful. I know it's not a Monarch caterpillar because of its coloration. It is probably not sitting on a milkweed leaf. Whatever kind of leaf it is, it looks like the caterpillar loved eating it. It's nice and chubby. Do you know what kind of butterfly it will become? Your clay work is nicely done. Keep up the great work. Grandpa and I love to enjoy your artistic ability.

We really like the way you have included your name in your artwork. What a clever way to sign it. Your many adventures at zoos all over the United States provided you with a good base to draw the zebra. I feel the eyes looking right at me! We wonder where the zebra will be off to next!!!! Keep up the awesome work in first grade! Love, Grandma and Grandpa

It's been a "Holly Jolly" winter so far. It reminds me of when I ride my John Deere gator through the woods when it is snowing. Have you ever done that? I'll bet you have because it looks so realistic. It sure looks like a very snowy day, not like the "snowless" days we have been having lately! It gives me the chills when I look at your "Holly Jolly" scene! Keep up the outstanding art work! Love you, Grandma O.

I remember how you used to create creatures with clay when you were at grandma's house. I enjoyed so much watching you create! I just love the eyes on your clay turkey. They are looking so intently at something. I wonder what that might be. I'll bet you know! Thanksgiving is coming soon! Maybe this will be part of a centerpiece on your Thanksgiving table! Happy Turkey Day! Love, Grandma and Grandpa O.

Kiddo, your "Lines Galore" art work is just beautiful. I love the colors that you chose for the project. The shapes that you created are quite interesting. I especially like the squiggly lines. Keep up the great work, young artist. Love, Grandma and Grandpa

That is quite an interesting "Dot!" I like the outside edges that you designed! I believe this is the first art work I have seen that you have created as a first grade student. Congratulations! Grandpa and I look forward to seeing many more creations! Love, Grandpa and Grandma O!

What an assortment of items for your Color Wheel Challenge. Looks like you did a great job. At least, Grandpa and I love your collection! Love you, Gpa and Gma

Your "Farm Animals" are very realistic. As we drive around in farm country we spot each one of these animals! You must see them too! That's why you can draw them so well! We think we like the fluffy, little sheep the best. There are so many of them in the fields these days. Looks like lots of them were born this spring. You're quite the artist! Love, Gpa and Gma

"It's a Secret" is a beautiful bouquet of flowers! I love how you always find just the right spot to include a heart in your artwork! I think it shows the love that you have for creating a beautiful work of art! I see that little insect on the stem of the flower. I just noticed there are two flowers that have hearts in them. That is awesome! I think I like the larger one the best. I wonder if you traced your hand and it is actually your hand holding the bouquet. Grandpa and I love to look at your beautiful works of art. Keep up the great work. Love, Gpa and Gma

Your nature sculpture following Andy Goldsworthy's style is right-on! I love your use of the natural materials. I wonder if you created this very recently because I see the dandelions in your border and your S. There's lots of them out in our yard, right now! I know how you enjoy picking them in the yard! The pine and limestone are used very well in your nature sculpture. Keep up the fantastic work! Love it! Grandpa and Grandma O.

Your "Rainy Day Duck" might not get wet with the huge umbrella he is holding. I really like the colors of the umbrella. I would buy one that you designed. We have been having lots of rainy days so that duck would have lots of puddles to jump in around here. Did he jump in that puddle like you would have done? It must have been quite a rainstorm with the huge raindrops that are falling from the sky in your artwork! Grandpa and I love your artwork! Keep it up! Love, Gpa and Gma

Certainly looks like you had fun on "Scribble Day." Looks like your scribble character lives in happy home. I see the eyes and part of a smile on the house. Your scribble character looks happy, too. Your character has lots and lots of different colors on his body. Those long arms are very interesting. He could reach right out and pick up almost anything he wanted. Keep up the creative work! Love it, Grandma and Grandpa O.

I saw the title of this project is "Just For Fun." I wonder if you decided to create this drawing of "The Grinch" on your own or if the entire class created their own drawing of the Grinch. Grandpa and I were in awe over what a great job you did of drawing The Grinch. You are amazing! That look of his face is so well done. Those eyes are just piercing. You could do the drawings of The Grinch in the Dr. Seuss' books. I think this would look great on a canvas or on a Christmas ornament. Hmmm...that's an idea! Love your work, Grandpa and Grandma O.

That "Clay Snowman" is pretty cool! Yep, I bet it was pretty cool when you were outside building a snowman with daddy and sis! Look at that carrot nose. How realistic! I wonder if you enjoyed working with the clay. I'll bet you did because you always enjoyed working with Play-Dough at the kitchen table! You created such interesting works of art. Keep up the love of clay. Love, Grandma and Grandpa O.

I'll bet your "Rainbow Lines" project helps you remember the colors of the rainbow just like Roy G. Biv does. I know my second graders just loved Roy G. Biv. I especially like the texture of the indigo section. Of course, I like the color indigo. I really never noticed before that the yellow and green John Deere colors are right next to each other. How cool! Great work!!! Love, Grandma and Grandpa O.

Your "Art Journal Cover" is pretty awesome to be on the front of the journal where you keep all of your artwork. It it really creative. I love the colors and style you used to create your name. "Pretty cool!" Maybe some time we will get to see everything that is in your Art Journal. Fill the journal with wonderfully, creative pieces of art. Love, Grandma and Grandpa O.

Vroooooom!!! Roooooom! What a robot! Is he zooming through outer space? Those movement lines really make it look like he is moving right along! I see the stars in the sky. Are hearts your trademark? I think they show that you really love to create artwork! You always do such an awesome job, big guy! I wonder where the robot is traveling? Would you like to go with him? Great work in art! Love it, Grandma and Grandpa O.

Grandpa and I are admiring your Roy G. Biv artwork. You already know the colors of the rainbow, but this is a cool representation of it. Grandpa especially likes his eyes. Keep up the great work. We love seeing it! Love you, Grandma and Grandpa O.

In your artwork you created the baby owls to look so realistic. They have lots of soft, fluffy down and don't really have any owl markings like adult owls. Your baby owls' (owlets') eyes are very bold. I am sure they are using those eyes you created to look at everything around them. We hope you enjoyed listening to the book! Grandpa and Grandma O. want to congratulate you on a job well done!

Vinson, I love your "All-Seasons" tree. I've enjoyed our conversations about all of the beautiful trees we've encountered as we walked and drove around the countryside. You certainly have captured that beauty. The sad fact is that most of those beautiful leaves have disappeared from the trees until next spring when we start all over again. That's why I love your tree, it captures the beauty of all of the seasons. Keep up the wonderful work, Vinson. Love you and your wonderful creations...Grandpa and Grandma O

Your abstract work is just like Piet Mondrian's work. Your composition with red, white and blue squares and rectangles looks just like his. It is very well done. I can see already that you are going to be a very good artist. I love seeing your work and I will share it with grandpa. Keep up the outstanding work, young man. Your grandma and grandpa are so very proud of you!

I am excited to be a part of your Fan Club. I am looking forward to seeing all of your art work you create in kindergarten.
